EXCLUSIVE: Cyber geek who halted global computer attack was suspended from school after 'hacking its website' (and he failed his GCSE in IT!)

Marcus Hutchins, pictured top, who prevented 100,000 computers being infected with ransomware, was ordered to explain why the school network was down at Ilfracombe Academy in Devon. But he claims it was nothing to do with him and that he had merely been using 'proxy' servers to bypass the school's internet controls. Marcus, 22, told MailOnline: 'It was like being picked up for a crime, but I had no idea why I was being picked up. He was ordered to leave school for a week in early spring 2010 and despite fighting the suspension, teachers refused to budge.
