Wronged a Passenger By Flying Her To The Wrong Direction.
Except they didn’t beat up a person this time, just that they made a mistake… again. Somehow, somewhere it’s like their vision is blurry and we don’t know what exactly their goal is as an airline. And quite literally, they went “oops!” all over again when they made an announcement after making their second publicised mistake.
Lucie Bahetoukilae, a person of an unknown nationality, was supposed to fly to Paris, France from Newark, New Jersey. Apparently she ended up in San Francisco, thanks to United. (They gotta unify their own heads la) When they re-booked her rightful flight to France, she was traveling for longer than she expected and initially planned. Imagine being stuck in a situation like this, or having another flight to catch afterwards.
What truly happened to her was that she was not informed of any of the last-minute gate adjustments, Bahetoukilae only spoke in French and therefore, made it difficult for her to communicate correctly and properly with the people around her. With the many ways United could have informed her of the gate changes that they decided to impose in the last minute, they could have sent her, or all of the passengers on that supposed flight a message to inform them of the last-minute change. However, there is a possibility that an announcement has been made, but then Bahetoukilae did not pick it up due to the language barrier.

Bahetoukilae’s niece, Miantsoko said to the media that the steward who checked Bahetoukilae’s boarding pass upon walking onto the wrong plane did not check the boarding pass correctly, but did give her a seat as she found somebody on her assigned seat, 22C.
It should be understood that United is working on trying to be more efficient with how it handles its passengers, and have provided Bahetoukilae with a voucher for another flight to Paris.
Now… who else wants to try at United? Promise they won’t somehow make a mistake with your flight!
