Well, if it isn’t the controversial topic about racism. Meanwhile in Malaysia, we just received word that our politicians say that rapists should marry their victims, unfortunately this may be among the things the world knows us for. The statement follows as “They reach puberty at the age of nine or 12 and at that time, the physical state of their body is already akin to those 18 years of age.” Apparently somebody is either blind or stupid.
He also considered, or rather, inconsiderately continued to say, “For a wife who was raped, if she can marry (the rapist) she would not go through such a bleak future. At least she has someone who can become her husband. So, this will be a remedy to social problems”, implying that if a woman was raped, no one would want her (thus referring to bleak future) because, you know, men only want virgin girls who are pure.
No thanks, dude. The kids deserve better. | Source: Ismaweb
This was a statement said because he objected to a pill proposed by DAP’s MP of Kulai Teo Nie Ching. Thankfully, the objection was voted down.
He said that it is unfair for rapists to be considered to stay a bad person, but I personally think it’s safe to assume so and it is more unfair for girls who suffer from getting raped to only get dismissed and told to marry the person who ‘broke their purity’. While there has been international cases where girls suffer from rape while the one who raped them were ‘pitied’ for having raped somebody. Pitied! Like, what did they do to deserve that pity? Again, it’s true they can repent and regret, but that doesn’t warrant their victim eternal suffering, to continue and reminded every day that their husband is their rapist.
Anyway, latest story: former Mufti disagrees. Best story.
Props to you, former mufti. | Source: themalaymailonline
He said, “Instead of marrying the victim, the rapists should rightfully be stoned to death.”
I’m already loving this story.
He proceeds to say that it isn’t right, and the religion does not suggest that. Unfortunately he has offered counselling to families who want to marry their children off. Due to the increased percentages in child pregnancies, Malaysia thinks that this is why child marriage is needed more than ever.

Well, wrong. But at least you try to think.
I suggest that we need a better system, better sexual education system (mind you, it won’t be about the positions or how to fit a **** into a ******, but about birth control and how to tackle unforeseen circumstances), a better community. Goodness, we need a community. I have never seen girls fear for themselves more than when they have either been sexually abused, or raped, or even accidentally had sex. They get so scared just to tell someone about their problems and their uncertainty because judgment occurs, and some even get disowned from their families.
