YB what happen to the promises you promised to the Penang voters to win the elections

HERE, GUAN ENG – ARE THESE TRUE? BN ASSEMBLYMAN LISTS DOWN PAKATAN’S ‘BROKEN PROMISES’ IN PENANG

GEORGE TOWN – There are a total of 51 unfulfilled promises since the Pakatan state government came to power in 2008 according to Datuk Muhamad Farid Saad (BN – Pulau Betong).

He listed all of them during his debate on the motion of thanks at the Penang legislature today.

He said there were nine promises in 2008, seven in 2009, three in 2010, four in 2011, five in 2012, 11 in 2013, four in 2014, five in 2015 and three in 2016.

Among them was the non-existent Aerobus and underground railway in 2008, abolishing illegal parking touts and gazetting Pulau Jerejak as a protected area in 2009 and an education hub in Balik Pulau in 2010.

He also cited the failure to resolve flood issues in 2011, a tram system in 2012, water taxis in 2013, a floating tourist village at Teluk Bahang in 2014, a Batu Kawan golf club in 2015 which was cancelled the following year and traffic jam issues.

“Do not be so arrogant,” he said to those present.

Farid also defended the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) Penang government over land sales and listed several deals which he said benefited the state via the collection of quit rent and land conversion premiums.

He said the present state government should instead use state land to benefit the people via planned developments.

Farid called upon the state to be transparent in the number of land deals it had transacted since coming to power.
