BOMBSEHLL – THE DRAGON HAS LANDED IN MALAYSIA: CHINA BANKED IN MONEY TO HELP CORRUPT NAJIB REPAY IPIC AFTER HE FLAGGED OFF BEIJING’S GREAT DEFENCE TRIANGLE VIA ECRL

After launching MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and bragged that the train system was a gift to the people of Malaysia, as if he paid the RM50 billion project from his own pocket and people could use it for free, Prime Minister Najib Razak launched another mega project – RM55 billion ECRL (East Coast Rail Link) – and hailed it as a “game changer” to Malaysia.

At the project’s ground-breaking ceremony in his home state of Pahang on Wednesday, Mr. Najib was grinning from ear to ear. He has every reason to smile. He desperately needs the money from China to pay tons of debt. As Bandar Malaysia progresses at a snail pace, he now depends solely on ECRL to get money from China so that he can pay Abu Dhabi’s IPIC.

The kingdom of U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates) has been breathing down his neck for the promised US$600 million of debt owed to IPIC (International Petroleum Investment Company), Abu Dhabi’s US$80 billion sovereign-wealth fund. After Malaysia shamefully missed the deadline, PM Najib was given 5 more days, of which he also missed.

NAJIB BEGGED KING SALMAN FOR HELP TO GET DEADLINE EXTENDED


It was only after Mr. Najib made a call to Saudi’s King Salman, begging for help, that Abu Dhabi agreed to extend – again – until August 12 to pay at least US$310 million, and the rest of the obligation (another US$310 million) by the end of the month (August). The second installment of US$603 million is due by the end of 2017.

BUT IT’S CHINA WHO BANKED IN THE MONEY FOR NAJIB TO IPIC

If Najib’s financial-troubled 1MDB could pay the US$310 million by August 12, then we know the Chinese has banked in the money after Mr. Najib officiated the ECRL project on August 9. China’s state-owned China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) will be building the 668-km rail link which is scheduled to be completed by 2024.

What raises eyebrows was the presence of China’s State Councillor Wang Yong, the special representative of President Xi Jinping at the ground-breaking ceremony.  Mr. Wang was the same person who attended the commissioning ceremony of the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway in Mombasa, Kenya and other African nations hunger for the Chinese money.


DEFENCE TRIANGLE

On the surface, the ECRL project, connecting east and west of Peninsula Malaysia, appears to be a good project. However, ECRL is part of a larger plan by China’s OBOR (One Belt One Road) flagship project. But within the OBOR’s ambitious project, of which Malaysia is just one part of it, there’s a secret hidden agenda – the creation of China’s Military Defence Triangle.

China is slowly but surely expanding its military influence close to the United States territory of Guam. Beijing is building a South China Sea Triangle that started with its control of the Paracel Islands. The second point of the triangle is in the Kagitingan Reef (Fiery Cross Reef), Zamora Reef (Subi Reef) and Panganiban Reef (Mischief Reef) – all within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.

The third point in the triangle is Panatag Shoal (Scarborough Shoal), which is also inside Philippine territory. If the Chinese can complete this triangle, they will have full control of the South China Sea. The triangle would serve as China’s first defense line that would prevent hostile forces from going to China through the South China Sea.

More importantly, the same triangle would act as a second defense line through which its naval and air forces could cover the West Pacific to prevent the U.S. 7th Fleet from coming to the aid of its allies in the region. Through Scarborough, China can deploy fighter jets and bombers over Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak), Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia.

America knew about China’s powerful plan, therefore instructed and influenced the Philippines to sue the Chinese at the international court. And that’s why Washington periodically sends the powerful U.S. Navy’s Carrier Strike Group 1 (CSG1) led by Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson to the triangle in the South China Sea to remind Beijing who the boss is.

However, there’s one missing puzzle – the Strait of Malacca. China realized that a simple blockade of the Strait of Malacca by the U.S. and its alliance will cut China off from Middle East oil supplies and from its “Second Continent” Africa. Now, do you understand why the Chinese expands beyond the South China Sea to the Indian Ocean?

But there’s no way China can control the Indian Ocean the same way they claim ownership of South China Sea. The solution – controls the Strait of Malacca instead. As history would repeat itself, the Chinese will not repeat its silly mistake more than 600 years ago when the Ming Dynasty didn’t conquer the strategically located Malacca in the 1400s.

China needed a triangle within Malaysia and Najib Razak’s corruption was a gift from heaven. The Malacca Gateway Port project – a RM43 billion project – will serve as the first point of Peninsula Malaysia Triangle. The second point ranges from “Iskandar Malaysia” to the RM100 billion Forest City in Johor. The third point is none other than ECRL in Pahang.

Yes, like the South China Sea Triangle, the Chinese has figured the creation of Peninsula Malaysia Triangle to control the Strait of Malacca. The “Bandar Malaysia” would serve as the hub of connectivity to the triangle of Malacca, Johor and Pahang. Of course, Najib was too dumb to realize that he has practically invited the modern-day colonizer – China – into the country.

But why wastes so much money on a triangle when China could just own Malacca through the Malacca Gateway Port project and thereafter controls the Strait of Malacca? The answer is Singapore. As the U.S.’ biggest ally in the Southeast Asia, there’s little doubt that Singapore is China’s biggest threat.When the Lee family feud exploded, the Chinese had rubbed salt into the injury.

The primary purpose of ECRL is to bypass Singapore so that in case of a confrontation with the U.S., resources including military hardware and personnel could be transported between Malacca (west) and Pahang (east) quickly. In order to check Singapore, China has offered Malaysia 12 units of the AR3 multiple launch rocket system and a radar system to be based in Johor.

The best part of the ECRL project is, the Chinese pushes the rocket system down the throat of Najib and there’s nothing he could do. That was another reason why Mr. Wang Yong was in Pahang. China is forcing Malaysia to purchase the rocket system, which the country doesn’t need, with a loan period of 50 years – under the pretext of combat terrorism and gather intelligence.



Kuantan Port - Central to ECRL - Future China Military Base

Malay rights group Perkasa was absolutely right to be upset that the launch of the ECRL appeared to be a Chinese affair. Najib was like a CEO of a Chinese-based company with President Xi Jinping’s representative Wang Yong there to make sure he behaves. It was fabulously insulting that there was not a single Malaysia flag during the ground-breaking ceremony on Malaysian soil.

Heck, all the banners were in Chinese so much so that the ECRL project could be easily mistaken as being constructed in mainland China or a territory owned by the kingdom. Beijing has no respect whatsoever to Kuala Lumpur that they didn’t even pretend that they’re building a rail link in a foreign country. They acted as if they owned the project and every inch beneath the infrastructure.

Today, Pahang Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Adnan Yaakob said he hopes the ECRL project would include local materials and contractors. Mr. Adnan’s bitching and whining have proven what the local ethnic-Chinese businessmen knew all along but the ignorant ethnic-Malay didn’t. The construction of ECRL will not excite local demands, let alone create significant employment.

With the exception of demands for local Musang King Durian or Bak Kut Teh, local Chinese business community knew the Chinese construction company will bring along 99% of the supply chain from the mainland. Not even a single bolt and nut, let alone cement, steel or sand, would be sourced locally. There’s no free coffee for Adnan Yaakob, if that was what he had hoped to get.

The labour, materials, contractors and whatnot will be sourced directly from mainland China, as they would normally do. So yes, ECRL is a 99% Chinese project which ethnic-Malays are not involved and needed. Until Malaysia has fully repaid the soft loan of RM55 billion plus 3.25% interest from the state-owned Exim Bank of China, ECRL belongs to China.

Wait a minute!! If the local ethnic-Chinese knew they could benefit very little from ECRL, and other China projects for that matter, why didn’t they do something, instead of watching with popcorn and Coke? Simple – after being subjected to decades of UMNO-Malay’s discrimination, oppression, suppression, intimidation and whatnot, how much worse could a mainland China’s colonization be?

True, Najib was correct to say that ECRL is a “game changer” to Malaysia. The rule of the game has changed. UMNO-Malays can’t demand free contracts from China contractor. UMNO-Malays can’t use racial card to threaten China contractor. More importantly, UMNO-Malays can’t tell China contractor to go back to “Tongsan”, because Najib has brought “Tongsan” here instead (grin). The dragon has landed!

Sack the Minister for Women. Child marriages are like state sanctioned paedophilia.

Yesterday, Malaysians were shocked to read the remarks of the Minister for Women, Family and Community Development, Rohani Abdul Karim, who said that the 12-year-old girl who married her rapist in 2013, was in good health and wanted to look for a job.

In her written parliamentary reply to Teo Nie Ching, the DAP Mp for Kulai, Rohani said, “She is now 16 years old and lives with her parents since her husband is in jail.

“She is still the wife to Riduan Masmud and visited him at Kepayan Prison Kota Kinabalu in January 2017.”

The case of Riduan, a restaurant manager from Sabah, shocked Malaysians and the international community. The rapist is currently serving a 12-year jail sentence for committing statutory rape. He has four children and to escape prosecution, he took the girl as his second wife.

Rohani said, “She is comfortable living with her parents and help her mother to take care of the children of her siblings.

“She intends to work in the future so she could be self-sufficient.”

Is Rohani a mother? If she has no children of her own, does she feel no anger if her younger sister or her niece, were to be raped and then married off to the rapist?

DOES ROHANI NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HER STATEMENTS?
A 16-year-old with a jailbird for a husband?
Other parents want a kind, responsible son-in-law with a stable job, but this?
A 16-year-old seeking employment when she should be at school, learning to improve herself and discovering that the world could be her oyster?
She has few skills and limited knowledge. She can only do menial jobs and will probably be exploited.
A wife who visits her husband in prison? How romantic!
She is probably prevented from developing healthy girl-boy relationships with a boy of her choice, because she is “married” and cannot divorce her convict husband.
What does Rohani mean by the girl is “comfortable living with her parents”
What choice does this girl have? She has no education, no skills and is condemned to a life of poverty and shame.
Instead of being at school, the girl is helping her mother to take care of the children of her siblings.
This girl is just a cheap unpaid nanny!

Rohani said that the ministry had provided counselling and advice to the girl.



Why should a girl be married off to her rapist? Does dignity and shame not mean anything to the minister and her advisors?

The girl’s humiliation is made complete, by the state, for allowing this marriage to take place. It is disgusting and shameful that the Minister did NOT stop the marriage from taking place.

Why were the Penan girls who were raped, in 2008, not given counselling and financial help to bring up the children they conceived after they had been raped?

The welfare officer who visited the minor, in March 2014, claimed that she was ashamed by the wide media coverage of her case and was reluctant to return to school.

Rohani also claimed that the officer who visited her in May 2013, was told that the minor had agreed to marry Riduan.

A 12-year-old may have the body of a mature woman, but her mental capacity and ability to know what is right or wrong is not yet fully developed.

Rohani is foolish to think that the girl had agreed to marry her rapist, not with the intense media, family, societal pressure and wagging tongues of her community.

SACK THE MINISTER. CHANGE THE SYARIAH LAWS
Rohani has performed disgracefully, she should resign or be sacked.

JAKIM does not deserve its RM1 billion budget. Raped Muslim children do not receive justice.

Syariah laws which allow rapists to marry their victims should be changed.

It is about time Malay/Muslim women took charge of their lives and stopped bumbling ministers, and male clerics from deciding their futures.

DR Mahathir Mohamad reacted strongly for the first time since the Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum last weekend where slippers and chairs were thrown at him, saying the incident will not stop him from speaking out against injustices.

The Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu chairman said he will not be fazed by the violence and will continue to speak frankly.


“I’m very frank, I will speak what I think is the truth, I don’t care about people’s reaction. The truth must be told,” he said in a video posted on his Twitter account.

This is the first time Dr Mahathir has come out to speak of the incident, which took place at the Raja Muda Musa Hall in Shah Alam last Sunday.

“We must speak the truth if not, the society will be ruled by immorality,” the 92-year-old former prime minister said, adding that fear of telling the truth would only ruin society.

Sunday’s forum was meant to be an open debate between Dr Mahathir and his former protégé-now-turned-nemesis, Prime Minister Najib Razak. Najib did not attend.



The event began peacefully about 4pm and Dr Mahathir answered about eight questions before unknown individuals in the audience threw shoes in his direction.

Chaos quickly erupted as more objects were thrown around the hall, including chairs and flares. Dr Mahathir, his wife and other Bersatu leaders were quickly escorted to safety.

PH leaders were quick to blame Umno for instigating the ruckus, and were quickly countered with accusations that Bersatu had planned it to gain sympathy.

A few Umno leaders, however, have condemned the violence, such as Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak and Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin.



Three youths were arrested after the incident and the number of those detained as of today has risen to seven, according to Bernama.

Yesterday, a police source told The Malaysian Insight that the three youths, who are not Bersatu members, were part of a larger group gathered in Setiawangsa and paid RM50 each to go to the forum.

Dr Mahathir is expected to hit the road again on Friday for the Save Malaysia, Save the People roadshow, or Jelajah Semarak in Penang, one of his aides told The Malaysian Insight.

One of my friend's father who is a retiree in his mid-60s,
is perfectly healthy looking and behaving normal, plays
his round of golf each Sunday does a fair bit of gardening,
keeps himself busy the rest of his time helping his son's
(my friend's) little retail business, and goes on tour/trips
every now and then .....

He was persuaded by his daughters and other well wishers to go for His medical checkup which he had last

done before retirement some 10 years ago. He didn't
see the need to do it as he was feeling perfectly ok and healthy. Of course, he didn't want to spend the money.

After persistent persuasion from his family, he finally
gave in (his daughters agreed to foot the bill).

First, his blood test revealed a total cholesterol count well above the 5.2 thresholds (in fact close to 6). The
the doctor advised that he went for his stressed ECG test.
Again he had to be persistently persuaded to go thru that test, which he did. And it revealed some abnormality with his heart.
Now the doctor advised that he went to take the angiogram.
He resisted again and again after much pestering, he
subscribed to that invasive test......which revealed three
(3) blockages in his heart. And the doctor advised he must go for the angioplasty.
This time he was adamant not to go any further. But it
was like the end of the world for his family members
who were all highly educated people with learned
common sense. They went thru the highest mountains
and deepest oceans to convince the old man to go for
the angioplasty.
The surgery was successful. And he was given a clean bill of health. His heart is revitalized and cleared of all
blockages. After returning Home from the hospital, his family (especially his daughters) put him on a "healthy" diet. Strictly no meat... only vegetables and fruits, with perhaps an occasional dish of steamed fish.......no oil.
The result.... the poor old man became weaker, couldn't
drive his golf ball the distance he used to, got tired easily
when he did his gardening, lost a lot of weight (which
everyone was happy because they see him getting
healthier that way), went to bed unusually early ('cause
he got tired sitting up late watching the sports channels)...
in a nutshell, he actually got weaker and probably suffering
from mal-nutrition!
Hardly 2 months after the angioplasty he passed away,
supposedly from heart complications ... All of a sudden, a few family doctor friends were able to offer explanations.
One of them had this to say...
Heart blockages do not happen overnight. They are built up of time. And the body has somehow gotten used to the blockages. As long as the effects of the blockages are not life threatening, it may be best leaving them alone.
Maybe it is better not to know about this. For most men at that advanced age already have blockages, some may be even worse. Not knowing it has one clear advantage.
There won't be any STRESS imposed on the person.
And STRESS is the killer.
Some may not respond well with angioplasty. With the
heart cleared of its blockages, the blood flow will be
unrestricted. And sometimes the body (even the heart
may not be used to this new revitalized condition) may
not know how to cope with it quickly enough. Coupled
with a "healthy" diet of just fruits and vegetables which
are not the usual and normal intake of this person, may
and can do further damage.
So it's a combination of all these that could have killed
this poor old man who was, just 2 months ago, a healthy
bubbly man living a perfectly normal STRESS-FREE
retired life.
Today my friend and his siblings all regretted what they
had done to their father.
Moral of the story is not to be extreme and take
everything in life in its stride and with moderation.
One more thing.... my family doctor, age late 40s,
hardly takes meat, a good sportsman has a total
cholesterol count of 6.
Some times it's in the genes. Like a 99-year-old
lady who lives by herself does her own
marketing cooks her own food, never eats any meat
that is not fat all her life, hates lean meat, cholesterol
so high .......and she is still kicking and so mentally
alert.
One thing .... she's got NO STRESS !!!.
She only gives STRESS to all others around her.
That's probably why she's living alone by herself.
Don't get paranoid and stressed up for nothing!!! "

"   . . .  I have said that the protected Malay States depended mainly on the tin mines for their revenue, and it was first care of the Government to foster the industry by every legitimate means. As early as 1882 a French company began to mine tin in the Kinta district of Perak, and has extended its operations to the other States.    Since then other Europeans have formed companies for the same purpose; but it was the Chinese who began the work, who have continued it ever since, and whose efforts have succeeded in producing more than half of the world's tin supply.

Their energy and enterprise have made the Malay States what they are today, and it would be impossible to overstate the obligation which the Malay Government and the people are under to these hard-working, capable and law-abiding. They were already the miners and the traders, and more instances the planters and the fishermen, before the white man had found his way to the Peninsula. In all the early days it was Chinese energy and industry which supplied the fund to begin the construction of roads and public works, and to pay all the other costs of administration. Then they will and still they are, the pioneers of mining. They have driven their way into remote jungles, cleared the forests, run all the risks, and often made great gains. They have also paid penalty imposed by an often deadly climate. But the Chinese were not often miners, they were charcoal-burners in the days when they had to do their own smelting; they were wood-cutters, carpenters, and brickmakers; as contractors they constructed nearly all government buildings, most of the roads and bridges, railways and waterworks.

They brought all the capital into the country when Europeans feared to take the risks; they were the traders and shopkeepers, and it was their steamers which first opened regular communications between the ports of the colony and the ports of Malay States. They introduced tens of thousands of their countrymen when the one great need was labour to develop the hidden riches of an almost unknown and jungle-covered country, and it is their work, the taxation of the luxuries of they consume and of the pleasures they enjoy, which has provided something like nine-tenths of the revenue.  When it is possible to look back upon a successful experiment, it is always of interest to ascertain the determining factors, and how far each affected the result.

What China , Najib , FELDA got to do with ECRL

                                   
This arrest of Isa was to head off a major revolt by the FELDA settlers who already due FGV are no longer owners of their land but tenants now. These FELDA dominated federal parliament seats which are around 60 seats are the backbone of UMNO west Malaysia as in total including Sabah , UMNO have 89 seats .

UMNO is so afraid as Bersatu have been making major inroads and replacing UMNO in FELDA

Umno is facing major trust defective among the Malay voters and as their confidential internal survey , there is a very real situation thank UMNO may loses at least all their seats in West Malaysia because of FELDA GST Tun factor , unemployment , cost of living and various other factors

The infighting in UMNO have now turn to a situation where it is either you kill or get killed

Najib is a pragmatic person and he knows the GE14 is his death warrant and now shows he is fighting but in reality, he is going to abscond the moment he calls the elections . Yes Khazastan is his final destination. The money already there and whops he and his family gone                      

The ECRL is also sowing discord and unhappiness in FELDA as the railway line is cutting thru FELDA land and a lot of oil palm and rubber trees have to make way and some settlements need to be moved                      

When China talks about economic security it includes transportation too. Malacca straits does not equal to safe transportation and that is why ECRL is also a step to bypass the straits of Malacca choke point which is Singapore . America has part of its Pacific fleet house in Singapore Changi naval base


West Malaysia has 2 ports Penang and Port Klang link by railways . This makes good security sense and also China will have total control over ECRL security

Thailand Kra canal was first choice but not practical due to its volatile security as it is in a midst of an Islamic revolt .

Who is funding the revolt in Thailand will be an article for another day
ECRL is only a secondary transportation route in case straits of Malacca is blockaded (Which countries stand to lose most )


That is why Kota Baru and Kuantan ports will be infuture developed and deepen

Expect a oil and gas pipeline in near future to cut from Kuala Kedah or Arau to Kota Baharu or Kerteh . One at a time and China have already done their homework


That is why Pulau Bidong is so important for China

The bigger danger of hudud to Non-Muslims.

I've highlighted some potential indirect consequences of hudud to non-Muslims in my previous post. Now this is a bigger one.

It opens a question as to whether the country is a secular or an Islamic country in practice. Why is this dangerous? Because it may pave the way to bigger and crazier things to happen such as how we officially treat non-Muslims.

In a typical Islamic country under Islamic administration, the non-Muslims are divided into a few categories:

1) Kafir harbi fi'lan: These are non-Muslims that are physically hostile (waging war) against Islamic countries.

It's a requirement for Muslims to kill them (as announced by Pahang Mufti recently). Killing kafir harbi fi'lan will not result in any punishment for the Muslim killer.

2) Kafir harbi hukman: These are non-Muslims that do not have any privilege of protection in an Islamic country and they are not waging war against an Islamic country.

Killing kafir harbi hukman doesn't bring death punishment to a Muslim but only half of a diyya (compensation to the family). This was backed by a Hadith, where Abu Juhaifa reported: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, judged that a believer should not be killed for killing a disbeliever." Sahih Bukhari 6517 in context of kafir harbi hukman.

3) Kafir muahid and dzimmi: They are non-Muslims who have protection agreement with an Islamic administration. Muahids are not citizens of the Islamic country but have peace agreements. Dzimmis are citizens and pay jizyahs (a form of tax or protection money).

It is haram to kill these types of non-Muslims. Many Hadiths protecting them. Also backed by Quran 9:29 "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Oh wait, dzimmis are bound under hudud laws :) jeng jeng jeng!!

PAS are just saying their hudud won't apply to non-Muslims to get the bill passed by the parliament. In history, hudud applies to all. Look at Acheh.

4) Kafir musta'min: Non-Muslim tourists with permission to be in the country. In modern world, Non-Muslims with Visa to be in the country. These Non-Muslims are protected until they become a harbi, even a harbi hukman.. let's say stupid Australians wearing our flags on their arses and being seen as a threat to peace?

In practical, most non-Muslims in Malaysia will be classified as dzimmis (you pay taxes). What if you don't? You become a hukman; can be killed but Muslim killer will have to compensate your family with half a diyya. What if you raise up voices against certain Islamic bodies? Will you be considered as harbi fi'lan? (Pahang Mufti already did) So basically, you're dead.

This is why it's important for Malaysia to remain secular in administration. Letting hudud bill to pass will open bigger Pandora's box.

To my Muslim friends, do we really want this for our non-Muslim friends? Why do we have to create hell on earth in our selfish pursuit of heaven?

1. I am a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”). I have read the foregoing Notice of Motion and Motion For Order Staying Civil Forfeiture Proceedings For All Purposes Except the Filing of Timely Claims and Answers, and know the contents thereof. The matters contained in the Motion are true to the best of my knowledge and belief.

In the piece, I had asked Najib (tongue-in-cheek) to arrest former PM, Mahathir. It appears that the wheels of power, grind slowly. Or else, Najib’s advisors take a long time to read and act…because today, it appears that Najib has finally acted. Mahathir’s children’s companies are being investigated by the taxman.

This is how Najib will act to neutralise Mahathir. He will take his time, and investigate Mahathir’s inner circle, before he makes his final attack.

“NAJIB COULD BE OUR SUPER HERO.” PUBLISHED 30 JULY 2012
The solution is simple: If Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak wants to create his own political tsunami, reverse the trend set by the federal opposition coalition, and earn the respect of the rakyat, he knows what he must do: arrest former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad for alleged crimes against the Malaysian nation and for abuse of power.

An approaching tsunami may be preceded by a drastic drop in water levels. Many people died in the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 when they went to the beach to see the seabed which had been exposed by the retreating ocean. Experts claim that a receding sea would have given five minutes’ warning for people to get to safety.

 NONENajib faces a discontented public and disarray in Umno-Baru, with divided loyalties and deception at the highest levels. Pakatan Rakyat and various NGOs have exposed alleged corruption involving many millions of ringgit, cases of injustice and the children of VVIPs and ministers receiving unfair business advantages. The exposed seabed before the arrival of the tsunami is a metaphor for all these problems.

Najib will have read the Merdeka Centre survey and seen that his approval rating had decreased, albeit by a miniscule amount, to 64 percent last month, but the decline in approval of his party is more worrying.
He would have recalled that in the 2008 general election, then premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had an approval rating of 72 percent, but at the time, BN enjoyed a stronger position than it currently does.

Najib has observed the receding respect of the rakyat for his administration and with the drop in popularity of his own party, he has effectively been given his ‘warning’ before the tsunami strikes.

To rescue his own party and redeem respect, Najib has to be courageous. By detaining Mahathir, he would achieve many things people thought him incapable of.

azlanFirst, with the arrest, Najib would steal the thunder from the opposition and be able to claim the glory of bringing a much despised man to justice. People are tired of the farcical Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), which catches the small fry rather than the big fish. Countries like Iceland, Ukraine, South Korea and Israel have tried former prime ministers.

Second, and perhaps this is for Najib’s own benefit, he would show the public and especially his detractors in Umno-Baru, that he is no shrinking violet.

It is an established fact that Najib hates controversies. When asked awkward questions during a press conference (PC) – he simply walks away; but governing is not just about PCs. Mahathir keeps his hands clean but with Umno-Baru losing ground, Mahathir’s undermining of Najib has escalated, because the Mahathir political dynasty must continue.

Most former prime ministers and presidents stay out of the limelight and are content to do charitable works or earn big bucks on the international lecture circuit. What does that say about our two surviving former PMs? One does not need the money, whilst the other has little to contribute.



Arresting Mahathir would be in the public interest and Najib should take this risk.

NAJIB’S TIMIDITY
So we come the third point. Najib has always promoted the line of moderation but never, it appears, at home. Mahathir endorsed the extremist Perkasa, claimed that Bersih would topple the government, suggested that Bersih was a clash between Malays and non-Malays, and said that Chinese voters would be the deciding factor in GE13.

NONENajib should have publicly told Mahathir that his comments compromise national security, but he didn’t. Mahathir has gone from strength to strength, because Najib was too timid to confront him.

If Mahathir were arrested, it might silence all of Najib’s critics within Umno-Baru or force them into the shadows. They are vocal because they have Mahathir’s backing.

Then comes the fourth point. Over the past three decades, our judiciary, police and civil service have been compromised. Billions of ringgit in illicit funds have allegedly been spirited overseas. In addition, families are divided by the brain drain from Malaysia. Members of Najib’s cabinet and party still follow Mahathir’s divisive policies. Arresting Mahathir will show the people who the real boss is.

There is one final twist, which is Najib’s own insecurity.  Najib entered politics at a tender age of 23 after less than two years at Petronas, following his graduation. He is a career politician. How can he empathise with the common man when he has not experienced life outside the corridors of Parliament and of power?

Despite saying that his administration does not practise populist policies, Najib has failed to see the negative public response to his various handouts such as the RM500 of Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia or deals for petty traders and taxi-drivers.

NONEHe has tried unconventional methods to gain acceptance – inviting people home to watch football, he’s done the hip-hop thing, gone on Facebook and taken a bus ride in Ipoh, albeit on a luxury coach.

Mahathir is chillingly ruthless, Najib is not. Both are hungry for power but Mahathir is not ashamed to humiliate Najib by undermining his rule.

Mahathir is adept at twisting the truth and is not afraid to take charge, to dominate and to control. Najib is too lazy and would prefer others to do his thinking and controlling for him, as long as he can enjoy the spoils. He should dismiss all his advisers, especially those responsible for the latest humiliating debacle over the Merdeka Day slogan.

EVERYTHING TO LOSE
Najib assumed the reins of control at a time when people breathed a sigh of relief at Abdullah’s impotence. Mahathir does not have the self-control to manage his own personality and tends to force himself onto others.

How can Najib even carve out a political legacy for himself when he has promoted Isa Samad to head Felda? Even Mahathir had called Isa corrupt! Perhaps, surrounding himself with the tainted might make him look less tarnished.

azlanAs we approach GE13, Najib has no one left to ingratiate himself with.

Najib has everything to lose, but Mahathir has not. Now is the time for Najib to turn the tables on his adversary and arrest Mahathir. He must prove his mettle by riding out the tempest of any blackmail attempts. Mahathir’s arrest could also start a domino effect and plug the black hole called Petronas.

If he wishes, Najib could also organise a cull of the known Mahathirists in the judiciary, the police and the civil service.

The rakyat who are engrossed in the closing drama of the mighty Mahathir might even overlook some of Najib’s indiscretions. They won’t of course, but it would at least buy Najib more time.

Then, he might want to consider Abdul Taib Mahmud in Sarawak.

For as long as I can remember, many Ipohites have grumbled about the lack of literary activities in their hometown, and moan that they have to go to either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore to satisfy their literary, art, drama, film, poetry and other cultural cravings.

Worry no more! Sharpened Word (SW) is aware of your concerns. They acknowledge the need to recognise and showcase local talent, to the whole world, not just to Perakians.

The weekend of the 24 to the 27 August promises to be an exciting one for culture and also for the literary arts in Ipoh. Sharpened Word (SW) is proud to announce that it will be co-hosting an event with the CausewayEXchange Singapore (CEX).

CEX is a joint arts and culture initiative between Singapore and Malaysia that aims to serve as the premiere exchange platform between the arts and creative communities of Singapore and Malaysia.

The SW-CEX event, is called “Same Same but Different” in which writers/poets from both Singapore and Malaysia will share the stage for a literary discussion.

The event will be held on Saturday 26th August , from 2 – 4 pm, at 22 Hale Street Heritage Gallery, Ipoh Old Town. Admission for this event is free.

The Malaysian delegation will comprise three Perak based writer/poets – Bridgett Eu, Wani Ardy and Paul Gnana Selvam. The Singaporean poets are Yong Shu Hoong and Sim Piak How.

They will engage in a friendly banter and discuss the similarities and differences between the Singaporean and Malaysian literary and linguistic landscapes; Is Manglish really that different from Singlish? Do both literature contain the same themes and motifs?

RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: The first wave of Chinese immigrants to Malaya arrived with a few pieces of clothes on their backs. Some carried changkol with them to work in farms, and many worked as labourers in tin mines.

Slowly but steadily, many saved whatever they could and eventually made it big. Even then, they felt subservient to the Malays.

Now, with the opening of the country to China, the second wave of Chinese is expected to come, this time armed with loads of remimbis  – so don’t expect them to be subservient like the local Chinese. Instead, it would be the reverse.

Anonymous 2460851488616887: This is not a racial issue. The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) is built to transport goods for China. Once completed, they will be able to bypass Singapore.

Yes, it will bring development to our East Coast, but at what cost? The ridership numbers, I doubt, will support it. Anyway, it has not been disclosed to the rakyat.

Four hundred years ago, China and India controlled 60 percent of the world’s economy, until they were plundered by the West. Now they are making a comeback, not with guns but with money.

The question is whether we will be able to dictate our own future when we owe so much to China.

Also, the Chinese yuan will continue to appreciate as their economy goes stronger, and we are borrowing huge sums from them. Perhaps there will be another royal commission of inquiry (RCI) in year 2100 following another huge forex lost?

Ketuanan Capitalist China: RM55 billion for a rail line that brings no economic sense to Malaysia but to serve China’s military strategies in the South China Sea – where are the feasibility studies for the ECRL?

At RM80 million per kilometre, this is probably the most expensive rail line in the world. Funded 85 percent with Chinese financing, designed by China, built by China, ‘owned’ by China but at Malaysian taxpayers’ expenses. The economic colonisation on Malaysia has officially started.

Now they bring with them labourers, skilled workers and engineers. Soon, the little emperors who are equipped with double degrees will migrate here and dominate the economy.

Dingy: Mega projects will benefit the country if the projects could generate enough income to offset the debt. Why didn’t all poor countries carry out such mega projects since they will benefit the people?

It’s a question of whether mega projects would generate enough income for the government to pay off the debts. Such projects require feasibility studies before the government should even consider to undertake them.

Let’s compute the payment to China for this massive loan (with no payments for the first seven years). This means government starts to pay in the eighth year and it will take 13 years to make the full payment to clear the debt.

The amount needed to pay per day to clear the debt will be RM55,000,000,000 ÷ (13×12×30) = RM11.75 million. This amount doesn’t include interest.

From this calculation, the government has to pay more than RM11 million a day. Was there a feasibility study done to find out if the project is feasible and whether the government can afford to take the loan?

Oxymoronictendencies: Here’s Najib’s Chinese dilemma – he has developed a platform and strategy of racial and religious divisiveness, which inevitably alienates that portion of the electorate with Chinese and Indian ancestry, in an attempt to secure his electoral voter base.

However, he has had to “sell” the country to mainland China in the process. His dilemma, of course, is that his electoral base doesn’t differentiate between Chinese from mainland China and Malaysians of Chinese ancestry.

Chinese is Chinese to most Malaysians of Malay ancestry because that’s what they have been taught from birth.

Sadly for Najib, Umno’s conscious, racially decisive strategy is now coming back to haunt him as he needs mainland China to bail him out following the alleged grand larceny of the last eight years.

He is now between a rock and a hard place. It’s going to be interesting to see him “spin” his way out of this one.

Vijay47: Phew, what a relief! For a minute there I thought it was some MCA leader and not PM Najib Razak who launched the ECRL project.

I hope that the PM was also wearing his songkok, that would have clinched the “Malaysianness” of the entire event. But it is also possible that Najib’s trusty songkok is reserved for the Umno assembly, when “Malaysianness” of a different nature is exhibited.

How blessed we be, that our country’s sovereignty and nationalism is measured by a speech and prayers in Bahasa Malaysia, and yes, that the ushers wore kebaya; I hope this was restricted to the lady ushers. By the way, didn’t the kebaya go out with Maria Menado?

And Pahang Umno Youth chief Shahar Abdullah, what’s that you said about your “culture as Muslims”? Is it the same one where when a husband converts to Islam, the children ‘automatically’ become Muslims also?

Or perhaps you refer to a hero who converted to Islam and kidnapped his child with that inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar seemingly unable to find him as ordered by the court. Ketupat and not pau, I hope.

Spinnot: I’ve watched the TV news coverage of the event and Shahar Abdullah has described it accurately. It’s perfectly normal for supremacist Perkasa to complain about the banners with Chinese characters and the translation of speeches (Bahasa Malaysia to Mandarin).



The Chinaman contractor should have given a white “ang pow” to Perkasa as a token of “respect” for the supremacist organisation.

Cogito Ergo Sum: Perkasa secretary-general Syed Hassan Syed Ali had referred to Malaysians of Chinese descent as “Chinese immigrants.” This ‘pendatang’ mentality still pervades the mentality of the local politicians.

Do they expect support from the ‘pendatang’ at GE14? This is a very short sighted and frivolous attempt at garnering support from the Malay populace. It may very well backfire.

Ferdtan: We love the irony. Now racist Umno is defending the Chinese (from China, of course).

We, the Chinese Malaysians, had been on the receiving end of Umno’s and Perkasa’s antics in attacking us Malaysians for any slightest perceived slights against the so-called Malay government, its religion and language.

Cash is king. And China has the cash, and by inference Chinese (from China) are kings.

Odysseus: Never mind about all the drama about national identity, language, culture, etc. The key question is whether Najib will lead the country into a debt trap?

Once you are in the trap, you can forget about all the above as we will all suffer.

An attempt to undermine former PM, Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s ceramah, called “Nothing to Hide 2.0” broke up in chaos and pandemonium, when some Malay thugs, set off flares, threw bottles and chairs at the audience, then hurled slippers at the nonagenarian.

Mahathir had been invited to the “Nothing to Hide 2.0” forum which had been organised by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) .

It was supposed to be a debate between Mahathir and the incumbent PM, Najib Abdul Razak; but we know that Najib has an aversion to debates and usually skips the country, when things are getting too hot to handle. He runs away.

Said one political observer, “This is the modus operandi of Umno-Baru. They send their thugs, to a peaceful event. Their aim is to create fear, to get the public to stay away and to send a message to the person or people who are staging the event, that they do not care about people’s rights, or safety, or democracy.

“The thugs, masquerading as the people who are going to a ceramah, will do anything to disrupt a normal event.”

His friend then added, “They threatened Zunar, the cartoonist, and wrecked his exhibition and sent Umno-Baru thugs to wreak havoc.



“It was Umno-Baru thugs who planned an assault on the Penang State Assembly a few years ago, because they were displeased with a state assemblyman’s comments.

“Umno-Baru thugs, attacked peaceful supporters and sent threatening messages to the Bersih 2.0 committee members, like Maria Chin and Ambiga Sreenevasan. Many other Opposition politicians are also targeted by these vile Umno-Baru thugs. Their leaders, run away, but they send their hooligans in.

NAJIB IS VERY AFRAID
Today, who else do you think fears a 92-year-old man most?

None other then Najib Abdul Razak and Umno-Baru.

The more thugs attack a 92-year-old man, the more the moderate and usually reserved Malays will wonder why such tactics are employed. They will start to ask questions. Why? What harm can an old man do?

KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has secured a court order to detain Tan Sri Isa Samad for the investigation into alleged abuse at a Felda unit.

According to The Star Online, the magistrate’s court in Putrajaya allowed the MACC to hold the former minister five days for its investigations into the purchase of a London hotel by Felda Investment Corp.


The MACC arrested Isa yesterday and raided his home in Selangor.

FIC purchased the Park City Hotel in Kensington, London for £98 million (RM543 million) in 2014.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad previously said his agency determined that FIC’s purchase was above market price, causing millions of ringgit in losses to the investment arm of government agency Felda.

The MACC has made several arrests in the case, including the chief executive of FIC.

The investigation was triggered by a boardroom tussle involving Isa and the currently suspended CEO of Felda Global Ventures, Datuk Zakaria Arshad.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has yet to decide whether it would proceed to freeze assets belonging to former Felda chairperson Mohd Isa Samad who was arrested yesterday in connection with the purchase of two luxury hotels by the company’s subsidiary.





Malay-daily Utusan Malaysia quoted MACC deputy commissioner in charge of operations Azam Baki as saying that further actions will only be taken after receiving more information from the investigating officers.

“I am not saying that he (Mohd Isa) has taken any money… Don’t speculate because investigations are ongoing.

“We (MACC) may be calling a few more individuals to record their statements,” Azam was quoted as telling reporters in Kelantan last night, a few hours after Isa’s arrest.

He also added that the MACC has so far recorded more than 40 statements from various parties related to the investigations.

Isa had his statements recorded over the purchase of two hotels by Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) – a subsidiary of Felda which engages in non-agricultural business.

He was taken to the Putrajaya Magistrates court this morning for the remand hearing.

The MACC is probing allegations that the FIC acquisition of a hotel in Kensington, London between 2013 and 2015, was at a price which caused the Felda subsidiary to suffer massive losses.

FIC reportedly bought the four-star hotel for 60 million pound sterling (about RM330 million) on Dec 16, 2014.

It was reported that the MACC is also investigating FIC’s acquisition of a hotel in Kuching, following new leads uncovered in the course of the probe on the Kensington hotel.

The video below is from an ABU (Anything but Umno-Baru (ABU) and Hindraf ceramah in 2012, in Klang.

The video exposes the Umno-Baru modus operandi.

They use Mat Rempits to intimidate the peaceful crowd who were only there to listen to the politicians. Many in the audience were elderly people. Many left out of fear.

The Malays and yes, they were Malays threatening the spectators. They used sticks to trash the chairs, threw bottles at the crowd, and rode their motorbikes in the hall.

Of course people were afraid. I would be, wouldn’t you?

Where were the police? In fact, the police dismissed the organisers’s claims of assault and intimidation.

Some of the faces are clearly evident on the video.

Were they ever caught and charged for causing chaos or a public commotion and threatening the crowd?

YOUR CHOICE

If this is the sort of country you want to leave your children, then do nothing.

But if you are angry by what you see in the video below (and in today’s Nothing to Hide 2.0 event, where the thugs tried to hurt former PM, Mahathir Mohamad), then please do something.



Talking to Umno-Baru politicians is pointless. We trusted them for 60 years and nothing has changed. In fact things have got worse.

The Umno-Baruputras have too much to lose, if they did not rule Malaysia again.

They have too much wealth squirrelled away in overseas banks, in properties in London, Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, New York, San Francisco and other locations around the world.

They also know, they will lose their freedom if they did not rule in GE-14. They know that we will demand that they are thrown into jail for crimes against the state, for the deaths, injuries and other evils they have committed. For the segregation, for child marriages, for religious persecution, for the unexplained abductions.

You know what to do in GE-14.

If you do nothing, then do NOT complain again. I, and other Malaysians, who are trying our best to rebuild our nation, will not listen to you.

Prepare to vote in GE-14. Malaysia depends on you!

ATTACK ON DR MAHATHIR BACKFIRES: BRICKBATS RAIN ON NAJIB FOR DIRTY TACTICS & IMMATURE POLITICAL CULTURE

Several flares were hurled, and the forum was forced to be cancelled.

Political debates constitute an integral part of democratic politics. Through rational debates, people holding different political views can exchange their ideas, compete among themselves, and convince the public in a bid to win their support.


Unfortunately, the forum organized by PPBM Youth was marred by the unpleasant incident that saw violence overpowering rationality.

But luckily the incident did not flare into much bigger conflicts and the troublemakers were arrested while former PM Mahathir, who was on the stage, was unhurt.

Politicians on both sides of the divide began accusing one another, giving this whole incident a very thick political conspiracy hue.

Both sides should exercise maximum self restraint at this moment to allow the police to step in and investigate. Any politically motivated allegations will not help resolve the matter.

Simply put, it is utterly important for the police to initiate the probe and severely punish the perpetrators so as to prevent similar incidents from taking place again in future.

The weird thing is, among the three men detained, two are private college students. Their motives of causing trouble at the forum must be thoroughly probed.

As political parties are stepping up their preparations for GE14, it is inevitable for political climate in the country to get heated up as confrontation gathers steam.

BN and Pakatan Harapan are gearing up for the election to wrestle power, and rivalry has been elevated to a new height after Mahathir set up PPBM which subsequently joined Pakatan Harapan.

But, that does not mean that intensified competition must do down the violent way.



The ruckus taking place during the “Nothing To Hide 2.0” forum shows a deteriorating trend in the country’s political development.

Such a trend must be reversed at once. As a country ruled by law, all political activities and maneuvers must go according to the law.

We are a democratic country that has been practicing democratic politics for decades. Unfortunately our democratic politics has yet to reach a certain level of maturity. This will form a major hurdle in our quest of a developed nation’s status and must be overcome at all costs.

Rationality is a manifestation of matured political culture, not violence. We must strive to win the support of people through civilized means and good reasoning.

We need to establish a matured political culture and incidents like the one at “Nothing To Hide 2.0” must never happen again.

GE-14 is a “Make or Break” election for our nation.

Me: Many people are anti-Mahathir and are displeased with the new Mahathir and Pakatan Harapan line-up. Are the people who refuse to vote in GE-14, just because they are anti-Mahathir, being selfish and irresponsible?

Thomas (in brief): I understand their reservations. It is true that a lot of the troubles that our country is in, has its foundation in what Mahathir has done.

We must look at the reality. We are in a desperate situation as a country.

In an election, it is always about making a choice. The choice between the lesser of two evils.

The 1MDB scandal exposed the full extent of corruption and abuse of the institutions that are supposed to protect us…







DESPERATE SITUATION.
Thomas appeals to our better senses, to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) a chance to rectify the nation.

He tells us that if PH does not perform, to remove them in GE-15. He reassures us that there are many good people in PH, and he is encouraged that many capable young Malaysians have entered politics, and will be given a higher profile and more opportunities to serve the nation.

He is confident that more of the younger generation will be fielded in GE-14.

THOMAS’ MAIN THRUST:

GE-14 is crucial.

We are in a “Make or break” election for our nation.

We must put aside our differences.

We should NOT throw away our vote by not voting.
