FULL TEXT OF PROSTATE HEALTH AWARENESS LECTURE
*MEN MUST READ*
Gentlemen,
I am here to speak with you on Prostate. The topic is misleading. Is prostate strictly for men? Yes, ONLY men have prostate and ONLY men over 40 years but the healthcare enlightenment is for everyone. There is no woman who does not know a man 40 years and above, father, uncle, brother, son, friend, neighbour, colleague...
Essentially what I will be doing today is health promotion. Responsible health promotion must provide three things:
1. Information
2. Reassurance
3. A plan of action.
Let me start with a background on prostate health.
Everyone has a pair of kidneys. The job of the kidney is to remove waste. It is the LAWMA (waste management company) of your body. Everyday your blood passes through the kidney several times to be filtered. As the blood is filtered, urine is formed and stored in a temporary storage tank called the urinary bladder.
If there were to be no urinary bladder, as a man walks on the road, urine will be dropping.
Now think of the plumbing work in your house. Think of the urinary bladder as the overhead storage tank. From the storage tank, a good plumber will run pipes to other parts of the house, including the kitchen. God in His wisdom ran pipes from our urinary bladder to the tip of the penis. The pipe is called the urethra. Just below the bladder and surrounding the urethra is a little organ called the prostate gland.
The prostate gland is the size of a walnut and weighs about 20grams. Its job is to make the seminal fluid which is stored in the seminal vesicle. During sexual intercourse, seminal fluid comes down the urethra and mixes with the sperms produced in the testicles to form the semen. So semen technically is not sperm. It is sperm + seminal fluid. The seminal fluid lubricates the sperm.
After age 40, for reasons that may be hormonal, the prostate gland begins to enlarge. From 20 grams it may grow to almost 100 grams. As it enlarges, it squeezes the urethra and the man begins to notice changes in the way he urinates.
If you have a son under 10, if he has a little mischief like we all did at that age, when he comes out to urinate, he can target the ceiling and the jet will hit target. Call his father to do same, wahala dey. His urine stream is weak, cannot travel a long distance and sometimes may come straight down on his legs. So he may need to stand in awkward position to urinate.
Not many men will be worried their urine stream cannot hit the ceiling. Toilets are on the floor and not on the ceiling. But other symptoms begin to show.
*TERMINAL DRIPPLING:*
The man begins to notice that after urinating and repacking, urine still drops on his pants. This is the reason why after an older man urinates, he has to ring bell. A younger man simply delivers to the last drop and walks away. Just see an older man coming from the bathroom. Sometimes he may clutch the newspaper closely to hide the urine stains, particularly on plain colored trousers.
*HESISTANCY*
At this point you wait longer for the urine flow to start. There are 2 valves that must open for you to urinate – the internal and external sphincters. Both open but because of obstructions in the urethra, you wait longer for the flow to start.
*INCOMPLETE EMPTYING*
You have this feeling immediately after urinating that there is still something left.
As all these things happen, the bladder begins to work harder to compensate for the obstruction in the urethra. The frequency of urination goes up. Urgency sets in. Sometimes you have to practically run into the toilet. Nocturia also becomes common. You wake up more than 2 times at night to urinate. Your wife begins to complain.
Men being men may not talk to anyone even at this point. Then the more serious complications start.
Stored urine gets infected and there may be burning sensation when urinating.
Stored urine forms crystals. Crystals come together to form stone either in the bladder or in the kidney. Stones may block the urethra.
Chronic urinary retention sets in. The bladder stores more and more urine. The size of the bladder is 40 - 60cl. A bottle of coke is 50cl. As the bladder stores more urine it can enlarge up to 300cl. An overfilled bladder may leak and this leads to wetting / urinary incontinence. Also the volume may put pressure on the kidney and may lead to kidney damage.
What may likely bring the man to hospital is acute urinary retention. He wakes up one day and he is not able to pass urine.
Everything I have described above is associated with prostate enlargement, technically called benign prostate hyperplasia.
There are other diseases of the prostate like:
1. Prostatitis – inflammation of the prostate
2. Prostate cancer – cancer of the prostate.
This discussion is on prostate enlargement.
I have bad news and good news.
The bad news is that everyman will have prostate enlargement if he lives long enough.
The good news is that there are life style changes that can help the man after 40 to maintain optimum prostate health.
*NUTRITION*
Look at what you eat. 33% of all cancers, according to the US National Cancer Institute is related to what we eat.
Red meat everyday triples your chances of prostate disease. Milk everyday doubles your risk. Not taking fruits / vegetables daily quadruples your risk.
Tomatoes are very good for men. If that is the only thing your wife can present in the evening, eat it with joy. It has loads of lycopene. Lycopene is the most potent natural antioxidant.
Foods that are rich in zinc are also good for men. We recommend pumpkin seeds (ugbogulu).
Zinc is about the most essential element for male sexuality and fertility.
Men need more zinc than women. Every time a man ejaculates he loses 15mg of zinc. Zinc is also important for alcohol metabolism. Your liver needs zinc to metabolize alcohol.
*ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION*
As men begin to have urinary symptoms associated with prostate enlargement, it is important they look at alcohol consumption. More fluid in means more fluid out.
Drink less. Drink slowly.
*EXERCISE*
Exercise helps build the muscle tone. Every man should exercise. Men over 40 should avoid high impact exercise like jogging. It puts pressure on the knees. Cycling is bad news for the prostate. We recommend brisk walking.
*SITTING*
When we sit, two-third of our weight rests on the pelvic bones. Men who sit longer are more prone to prostate symptoms. Do not sit for long hours. Walk around as often as you can. Sit on comfortable chairs. We recommend a divided saddle chair if you must sit long hours.
*DRESSING*
Men should avoid tight underwear. It impacts circulation around the groin and heats it up a bit. While the physiological temperature is 37 degrees, the groin has an optimal temperature of about 33 degrees. Pant is a no - no for men. Wear boxers. Wear breathable clothing.
*SMOKING*
Avoid smoking. It affects blood vessels and impact circulation around the groin.
*SEX*
Regular sex is good for the prostate.
Celibates are more prone to prostate illness. While celibacy is a moral decision, it is not a biological adaptation. Your prostate gland is designed to empty its contents regularly.
__________________________
*Thought:* when someone shared something of value with you and benefit from it. You have a moral obligation to share it with others because someone in your friends list might be saved.

20 surprising and controversial things you didn't know about United Airlines
Oliver Smith, digital travel editor
12 APRIL 2017 • 11:37AM
United Airlines is facing a barrage of criticism for dragging a paying passenger off a flight to make room for its own staff - but we’d wager that the majority of UK travellers have no experience of flying with them. So here’s a little introduction to the world’s third largest airline.
1. It earns more from extra charges than any other airline
According to an annual report by Idea Works, an aviation industry analyst, United collected the most in "ancillary" revenue (defined as everything not included in the airfare) in 2015: a whopping $6.2bn (£4.8bn), followed by American $4.7bn (£3.6bn) and Delta $3.8bn (£2.9bn). Ryanair, despite recent efforts to upgrade its reputation for extra charges, comes sixth, with $1.7bn (£1.3bn), while easyJet, with $1.46 (£1.09bn), is eighth.
2. It’s no stranger to criticism - and charges passengers to use overhead lockers
Last year United sparked anger by launching a new “basic economy” fare. Those who opt for the cheapest ticket are allowed to travel with a single small item of luggage, measuring no more than 9” x 10” x 17” (23cm x 25cm x 43cm), but they must place it under a seat and not in the overhead bins. United claims the move does not amount to a new fee. Those who want to stow their hand luggage overhead can still do so if they choose the standard economy fare, it says.
But those who choose the cheapest fare are unlikely to make any savings. According to Reuters, basic economy fares are “comparable to low fares it now charges for the economy cabin, but with more restrictions”.
3. And its customer service department is known to make a hash of things
Back in 2014 United delivered what might be the least sincere apology letter of all time. “Dear (CUSTOMER NAME),” it began, with staff having forgotten to fill in the case fields. “Your comments regarding (SPECIFIC EVENT) will be used for coaching and training our employees. To encourage you to fly with us again and as a tangible means of acknowledging your disappointment, enclosed is (SPECIFIC ITEM).
“(CUSTOMER NAME), I ask that you allow us another opportunity to serve you, as we consider it our privilege to have you aboard.”
Later that year it was at it again, sending an email apology to Chris Chmura, a US passenger, but referring to him as “Mr Human” on three occasions.
“Dear Mr Human. Thank you for contacting us at United Airlines, Customer Care Department,” it began, before adding, rather ironically: “Mr Human, your email clearly expresses your disappointment and I would like to extend a sincere apology…”
4. A song was written about them
Dave Carroll, a Canadian musician, wrote a protest song in 2008 called “United Breaks Guitars”. You can guess what inspired it.
5. It hired the world’s first female flight attendant
While traditionally considered a role for women, the first flight attendants were all male. The first "stewardess" was hired by America’s United Airlines in 1930 and soon female flight attendants, or "air hostesses", became the norm.

6. Beards are frowned upon
In its physical requirements for cabin crew, United takes a strong stance on facial hair, saying "trendy facial hair styles are not permitted (e.g. small patch of hair growing below lower lip)" and "mustaches may not extend more than ¼ inch below the sides of the mouth". It also outlines that finger nails "may be no longer than ½ inch measured from the fingertip and should be even in length and shape".
7. It’s big
United is the third largest airline on the planet by several measures, including revenue ($36.5bn) and fleet size (a whopping 738 aircraft). It is also the third most valuable aviation brand name, according to a recent report.
8. And has a UK presence
United flies to 78 domestic destinations and 108 overseas, including Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London (Heathrow) and Manchester. It previously flew to Belfast and Newcastle.
9. It’s as good as Ryanair
Skytrax, the aviation ratings website, gives United three stars out of five, along with 106 other airlines, including Ryanair, easyJet, WOW, Wizz, Norwegian, Thomas Cook, Monarch, Jet2 and American. Nine carriers (ANA, Asiana, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, EVA Air, Garuda Indonesia, Hainan Airlines, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines) boast five stars and there are 40 with four.
10. And has a novel way of boarding
Research suggests that it is around 35 per cent quicker when passengers board a plane according to column, rather than row number. Those with a window seat should go first, followed by those in the middle and, finally, those in the aisle. It has been dubbed the “WilMA” method – window, middle, aisle – and United is one of the few carriers to have embraced its. It asks passengers with window seats to board first (once premium customers and families have taken their seats).

11. More than 1,000 United passengers have died in plane crashes
On a rather sombre note, the Aircraft Crashes Record Office reports that 1,211 have died in United crashes since it was founded in the Thirties, the fifth most of any airline. Topping the all-time list is Aeroflot, with 8,231 deaths; Air France is next with 1,783, followed by Pan Am (1,645) and American (1,442).
12. But it’s now one of the safest carriers on Earth
AirlineRatings.com, an independent plane safety and product rating website, includes United in its list of the world’s 20 safest airlines.
13. It’s old
Founded on April 6, 1926 as Varney Air Lines, United took its current moniker in 1931.
14. Its first transatlantic flights took 20 hours
Using a Boeing 247, United was able to conquer the Atlantic in 20 hours by 1933 - far faster than its rivals.
15. It pioneered the use of flight simulators
United paid $3m for the first modern flight simulator with visual, sound and motion cues for training pilots. Before long all major airlines were doing likewise.

16. Boeing is its best mate
William Boeing ran United until 1934, when legislation barred aircraft manufacturers and airlines from common ownership. But the firm’s close links never stopped - United was the launch customer for modern Boeing aircraft, including the 767 (1982) and the 777 (1995).
17. Its slogan looks a little ironic right now
"Fly the Friendly Skies" was introduced in 1965.
18. The views are great from its HQ
The Willis Tower, 442 metres above Chicago, is where United’s honchos call home. It’s also a sponsor of six of Chicago's seven professional sports teams — the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Fire, Sky and White Sox.
United's home city
19. It has nine hubs
In addition to Chicago, they are Houston, Newark, Denver, San Francisco, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Tokyo and - rather surprisingly - Guam.
20. But doesn’t fly to Africa
Services to Accra and Lagos (both launched in 2010) were scrapped in 2012 and 2016, respectively.

United Airlines apologises to dad after detaining him for 'touching' son's lap
This is not how anyone deserves to be treated' Henry Amador-Batten - right - with Ben and Joel
Natalie Paris, travel writer 25 MAY 2017 • 11:44AM
United Airlines is facing fresh criticism for mis-treating customers after cabin crew accused a father of touching his son inappropriately during a flight.
Henry Amador-Batten was travelling with his 5-year-old son son Ben back to North Carolina, in the US, from Puerto Rico on May 19, where Henry had been dealing with the death of his father.
When the pair went to get off the United Airlines flight at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, they were stopped by authorities following a complaint by a crew member about the way Amador-Batten had laid his arm across the boy's lap.
The Amador-Battens are hoping to adopt a second child
The incident made Amador-Batten fear that his son might be taken away from him.
Joel Amador-Batten, Henry's partner, wrote on a Facebook page for gay fathers, DADsquared: “My husband was detained after disembarking because a member of the flight crew made an accusation that my husband's hand/arm laying across my sleeping son's lap was too close to the 'child's genitalia'."
He said Henry was detained for almost an hour due to the “misguided” accusation, and made to feel “like a criminal” in front of other passengers.
“This is not how anyone deserves to be treated,” he continued on Facebook. “This is not something that should have happened in front of my son. This is not something that anyone should have to worry about happening to them on a flight just because someone might not like the looks of them.”
'Ben is having nightmares and still has not slept in his own bed'
Ben had fallen asleep on Amador-Batten’s shoulder during the flight and he had later put his hand on the boy’s lap to comfort him.
Henry Amador-Batten told Telegraph Travel: "I honestly believed that they would/could at any point take my son away for questioning or worse. Being questioned made me feel, targeted, shamed, isolated, vulnerable and helpless.
"I was also extremely fearful and and still am that these allegations could affect our pending second child's adoption."
The couple are currently in the process of adopting their second son and Joel said they have the responsibility themselves for reporting any abuses they suspect are going on with children they come into contact with.
The airline apologised for the incident when the story went public.
"Our customers should always be treated with the utmost respect," United spokesman Jonathan Guerin said in an email that was published by the News & Observer.
'I know he's processing something and it breaks my heart,' Henry Amador-Batten said of his son after the incident
"We have followed up with the customer directly and we apologised for the situation."
United has been contacted by Telegraph Travel for comment. Amador-Batten is reportedly considered pursuing legal action over the incident.
United’s publicity engine has only just recovered from putting out the fire that followed the decision to drag one of their passengers off a flight that was overbooked, last month.
Mr Dao, a 69-year-old Vietnamese-American doctor, was injured when Chicago police removed him from his seat and then dragged him from the plane to make space for four crew members on the flight from O'Hare International Airport to Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr Dao and the airline have since reached a settlement for an undisclosed sum.
Malaysian Woman’s Cheap Breast Implants Burst On The Dance Floor!!
Getting cosmetic surgery is not a playing game, although the cheaper options are attractive you should refrain from it! Do not ever go for the cheaper price, because this is your body you’re putting under the knife here, you only got one body. Do you really want to risk your life?
A 23-year-old woman who is a local Kuala Lumpur resident, often visits nightclubs, being a girl who loves to party, she wanted to enhance her features. She got her breast augmentation procedure done in Thailand with a cheap price.
One unfortunate night, her breast implants burst on the dance floor of a popular KL nightclub on Saturday night, May 20. The club was crowded with hundreds of guests on Saturday night when the incident occurred.
A number of witnesses who were at the club spoke to local media to share their accounts.
“I was quite close to her on the dance floor. For most of the night, she’d been dancing with this tall foreign guy and the pair had their hands all over each other. I think they were pretty intoxicated.”
According to the male witness, the pair were not shy in their display of physical affection for each other as the foreign man reached under her skirt and under her top several times. They were even told to get a room by people nearby who weren’t really comfortable with the scene.
The witness recalled that around 1.30 am was when the whole fiasco happened.
“I saw the guy put his hand up her top again, and it looked like he was squeezing her breasts. I guess he must have squeezed too hard because the next minute we were covered in a spray of liquid and the woman started screaming so loud we could hear her over the music.”
Those who were on the dance floor panicked as the woman collapsed to the ground, many thought she was attacked because her top was stained with blood. The venue’s security team rushed to provide first aid and medical help was called.
So far, the woman is said to be in a stable condition at the hospital as surgeons attempt to repair her damaged breasts, investigations are ongoing.
While surgeons are hopeful the woman’s breast can be completely repaired, the scars physically and emotionally will last for quite some time.
Let this lady’s experience be a lesson to all of you who are thinking about getting breast augmentation, or going under the knife. You should always do your research before getting anything done, do your surveys and find a really good surgeon.
Heck if you really want it so bad, go to South Korea! They have great cosmetic surgeons there! Be safe people!

A Singaporean Man’s Penis Is Officially The World’s Longest Penis!!
The new record holder of the world’s largest penis goes to a 26-year-old Singaporean man who requested to be identified only as Daniel to protect his identity after he was measured by the world record authority at his home in Bukit Panjang earlier this week.
Daniel told journalists at a press conference held after the measurement ceremony that he is thrilled at the record as everyone can imagine.
“For years, I have been researching supplements and exercises that are rumored to boost penis length, and a few months ago I finally hit upon something that really worked!”
For obvious reasons, Daniel declined to reveal what his secret is, but it certainly paid off. But I am still puzzled as to why would anyone want to have such a long penis for?
The former record holder of the world’s longest penis was by American man Jonah Falcon. He set the record with a measurement of 13.5 inches (34 cm) when fully erect back in 1999. Since then, many men have tried but no one has taken the throne until now.
Shockingly, Daniel’s penis was officially measured at 13.9 inches (35.3 cm) when fully erect by the world record judges, earning him the title of the world’s longest. To Daniel, it was a remarkable achievement as he has not always had such a long penis.
“In my younger days, I had a fairly average penis. It wasn’t particularly short, but it was definitely not as long as it is now. Unlike a lot of previous world record holders who won the genetic lottery and were already born with large packages, I’ve had to work really hard to achieve this.”
You’d think that it is a blessing to have an extra long penis but it really isn’t as Daniel revealed that it has made some aspects of life a bit harder. His girlfriend broke up with him because it was too big for her. So finding a suitable partner is going to be pretty tough, but he has high hopes for a girl who can handle his size.
Personally, I don’t know any girl who can actually take a penis longer than my red and white, 30 cm Faber-Castell ruler into her golden gates, I don’t think the ‘tunnel’ is that deep for him. Sad news dude, you might just have to give up on penetration.
Daniel told the journalists that he was considering a career in pornography.
“Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the recent JAV auditions in Singapore, but I do plan to go to the KL casting next month.”
He even has a backup already planned if his initial plan doesn’t work out, he may travel to the United States as he already received some offers from leading adult movie producers ever since the world record was announced.
“My preference is definitely to become a JAV actor, but I’m definitely open to other opportunities.”
Daniel told journalists at a press conference held after the measurement ceremony that he is thrilled at the record as everyone can imagine.“For years, I have been researching supplements and exercises that are rumored to boost penis length, and a few months ago I finally hit upon something that really worked!”

OMG Full Grown Lizard Found In Crab Curry At A Restaurant In Bandar Puteri Puchong!
Four hours ago (at the time of press), Shanthini Subramaniam shared her awful dining experience on Facebook claiming that a full grown size lizard was served on her plate!
According to her post, this incident occurred during her visit at the Maalini Curry House at Bandar Puteri Puchong, though she did not exactly state when.
She even took a picture of the disgusting meal. Those who are in disgust with lizards, please look away now!
Also, Shanthini claimed that none of the workers or the cashier (who Shanthini assumes to be the daughter of the owner) apologised instead they simply walked away.
Which eventually led her to the conclusion that probably their crab curry tasted that good because of the ‘special’ ingredient.
She also had a special request from the public to viral her post til it grabs the attention of the authorities…emmm…lady, I think for that you can file your own report. You don’t have to make things viral to get a matter reported to the police.
Though she did have a picture of a lizard drenched in curry on her banana leaf plate, we can’t for sure claim that it did happen at this particular restaurant. There are even claims in her post that she is just trying to defame the mentioned restaurant.
Morgan Major: Accident does happen, If you are unsatisfied you should proceed to the police station or related Jabatan. Not like this tarnishing their business and kill their reputation. This is very cheap and unprofessional….INDIAN KILL INDIAN…nande katha….please be matured….
According to one commenter by the name of Vasumathi Balaiah, this allegation is untrue, though there isn’t really a clear picture either of who made the public announcement.
However, what it is clear is that Maalini Curry House does serve awesome crab curry according to these PEOPLE!
