KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — The case of a primary school student in Negri Sembilan who used his smartwatch to secretly record an English class that was not fully taught in the language and which latter forced the teacher to apologise has made headlines in the Chinese vernacular newspapers.
Deputy Education Minister Datuk Chong Sin Woon responded saying the Negri Sembilan Education Department has been directed to investigate even though the ministry has yet to receive a formal complaint.
“The way the teacher apologised to the student is too horrible, this will not only harm the school spirit, but how will the teacher be able to continue teaching in front of the student?” he was quoted saying in Mandarin by Guang Ming Daily which frontpaged the news in a report today.
According to the daily, the incident happened at a Chinese vernacular primary school in Seremban.
The incident came to light after a Facebook post on it spread. The original poster had claimed that the teacher had not fully used English to teach an English language class, and that it had been recorded by a student using a smartwatch.
The Facebook post — which did not mention any names — also alleged that the student had passed on the recording to parents and the school principal and subsequently wanted the teacher to apologise, before adding that the teacher had no choice but to apologise to the student.
Chong was reported saying students dissatisfied with their lessons should provide feedback through proper channels instead of recording their classes furtively.
He was reported adding that parents could also complain to the schools or the Education Ministry.
He also noted that students are banned from bringing digital products to schools and that the ministry had only proposed that students be allowed to bring laptops with the intention that electronic goods would be used to supplement their studies, instead of for video or voice recording purposes.

Page from the Past - Hadi: Only DAP defended PAS when Kelantan govt fell in 1978
Tuan Guru Hadi Awang have forgotten when DAP helped PAS and this below is from his own words. I guess he is an untrustworthy human being who forgets his friends and cohorts now with his enemies UMNO

TELUK INTAN: PAS is working together with DAP as a token of gratitude for standing by their side when the Kelantan government fell in 1978.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said it was DAP who defended PAS when the Kelantan government fell to Barisan Nasional then, causing chaos within the state.
He said Barisan, that was working with PAS then, did nothing to help them.
“Only DAP defended us that time and we are grateful to them.
“We have the responsibility to help them back,” he said in his speech during a high tea session with DAP’s Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud at Taman Cicely here yesterday.
“Even with our differences over alcohol, pork, hudud and halal matters, we have something in common, which is to stand up against corruption, injustice and to fight for fairness for all,” he said.
Abdul Hadi also said that the Barisan coalition had ruled for over 50 years, but yet there were still a lot of poor people in the country.
He also called on the people to vote wisely and to look at the candidate’s capabilities rather than their race.
“If we are smart, we don’t talk about race.
“We talk about how the candidate can represent the voice of the people at Parliament when they become an MP,” he said.
Abdul Hadi also praised Dyana Sofya for her bravery to stand and speak up against her detractors.
Tok Guru Hadi Awang Mengapa Parti PAS Boleh Kerjasama Dengan DAP
“She is brave, she will support the right and oppose the wrong.
“She has courage to stand under DAP, not even I dared to do so,” he quipped.
Abdul Hadi also urged the people not to be baited by “candies” offered by Barisan to fish for votes.
“Be a smart fish that eats the bait but not get hooked.”

21 held after early morning brawl in Bangsar
FMT Reporters | May 11, 2017
Police fire shot at car which almost mows down cop.
PETALING JAYA: A brawl in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar, early this morning led to the arrest of 21 people, including four women.
Police were alerted to the brawl in front of a restaurant about 3.30am, theSundaily and NST online reported.
On arriving at the scene, they found some 30 people fighting.
In the midst of breaking up the fight, the driver of a Perodua Axia, with a smashed rear windshield, sped towards the policemen in his bid to flee the scene, and almost rammed into one of the officers standing near his patrol car.
A policeman reacted by firing a shot, hitting the bumper of the car.
Minutes later, police found the vehicle abandoned in front of a bank nearby.
Brickfields police chief ACP Sharul Othman Mansor said police seized three vehicles, including the Perodua Axia and a Toyota Vellfire.

Gangsters financed by VIPs: Malaysian police
This is the second such incident in the area in two months.
On April 1, three policemen, who were investigating a fight in Jalan Telawi 3, were assaulted by a group of men, at about 4.30am.
This came after six party-goers, who had just left a club, were assaulted by a gang of eight men.
The gang members were drunk and one of them had pointed a gun at the party-goers who fled the scene and lodged a police report.
When the three cops came to investigate, a group of 10 men, armed with sticks and bottles, came out from the club and assaulted the trio.
One of the attackers allegedly shouted, “How dare you disturb Gang 36?”
The men fled when one of the policemen whipped out his gun.
One of the policemen was seriously injured and received 30 stitches on his head.
Declaration Of War! – U.S. Military Wants Control Over Ports In China & Russia
With great military power comes great responsibility. To the United States, however, aggression and responsibility are two interchangeable words used to suit their interests. When the U.S. Navy’s Carrier Strike Group 1 (CSG1) was sent to the South China Sea, China screamed that it was a challenge to its “sovereignty and security” but the U.S. shrugged it off as simply “freedom of navigation”.
U.S.’ military aggression is legendary. They have military bases all over the world – from Honduras to Oman, Japan to Germany, and Singapore to Djibouti. In fact, under the pretext of national security and global peace, the U.S. has established at least 800 bases in 80 foreign countries. In Germany alone, America has 174 “base sites” while there’re 113 in Japan.

While America believes they are the good guys and have every right setting up military bases on foreign soil, they would most likely foam at the mouth if China or Russia, let alone Iran, built even a single base anywhere near the U.S. borders. They can point missiles at a foreign country that they don’t like, but no country can do the same to them.
One of the reasons that U.S. possesses 10 operating aircraft carriers is to bully, provoke, intimidate and start a war on foreign soil. And they can afford to do so because those wars are being fought far away from homeland. If they lose a war, they could easily pack, go home and start another war. North Korea notoriety means the U.S. must show who the sheriff in the region is.
North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-Un’s Nuclear Threat
However, North Korea is not the only nation Trump administration tries to control in an attempt to demonstrate its power. Trump knew the U.S. military cannot start a war without a valid excuse. He wanted Kim Jong-un to shoot first. But North Korea also knew they are safe as long as they engage in war-of-words and doesn’t fire the first missile into South Korea or Japan.
On May 4, however, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill – with 419 to 1 margin – allowing Trump to not only tighten sanctions on North Korea, but also grants the U.S. president, as commander-in-chief, extraordinary power to take control of Syrian, Iranian, Chinese and Russian ports to ensure that no forbidden cargo reaches Pyongyang.
North Korea Ship Docking At Port
The Korean Interdiction and Modernization of Sanctions Act (H.R. 1644) is designed to undercut North Korea’s economy by cracking down on the network of banks and industries that help it avoid Western sanctions. In particular, it cracks down on North Korean shipping and use of international ports – including Chinese and Russian sea ports.
What this means is the U.S. Navy is being empowered to control the activities of a number of ports in China, Iran, Syria (Latakia and Tartus ports) along with the Russian ports of Nakhodka, Vanino and the Vladivostok sea port to ensure their compliance with the bans imposed on Pyongyang over its missile and nuclear tests. Of course, the Russian wasn’t impressed with the U.S. latest stunt.
US Wants Control Over Russia Port
Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the Russian Upper House’s International Affairs Committee, said – “The realization of this U.S. bill includes a proposed force scenario in which the US Navy would conduct compulsory inspections of all ships. Such a scenario is simply unthinkable because it means a declaration of war.”
The bill also expands the powers of the President of the United States to impose sanctions against individuals who violate certain UN Security Council resolutions. It appears the U.S. tries to usurp the power from the United Nations, despite the fact that no one had given America the official powers to enforce the U.N. Security Council resolution on North Korea.
North Korea Coal Export to China - Transporting Across Border
United States has been frustrated by the present ineffective economic sanctions slapped on North Korea because Iran, China and Russia continue to trade with the hermit kingdom. Trump administration was also not happy that Russia continues to veto any U.N. Security Council resolution to tighten sanctions against North Korea.
Russian Navy Day Marching
Amusingly, the Bill says that any Chinese and Russian vessel including military, and aircraft carrying on regular passenger flights to the US, are subject to seizure by the U.S. authorities due to a simple fact that these countries’ fleets have been visiting the North Korean ports and the North Korean workers have been legally allowed to work in Russia and China.
The Bill also dictates that the moment President Trump signs it into the law, the U.S. grants itself the “right” to start seizure of Russia’s, Chinese, Iranian and Syria capital, properties, vessels and aircraft, civilian as well as military, on the territories under the direct jurisdiction of the US laws, if not all over the world.
Kremlin accuses the United States of trying – again – to expand its jurisdiction all over the globe. Perhaps Russia or China should introduce a similar legislation in their own respective country, empowering their military to inspect, search and seize any vessels docking at American seaports, in addition to special authority to inspect sea ports in the U.S. too.
What grass has Donald Trump been smoking? Sure, go ahead and send a U.S. Navy’s Carrier Strike Group to control any of the Chinese and Russia sea ports. The world would like to see how would Russian Navy deals with U.S. Navy who forcefully conducts compulsory inspections of all ships at Russian ports.

Russian lower house lawmakers described the fresh U.S. motion as a threat to global security, warning that Moscow would be forced to undertake reciprocal measures if the bill passed into law. Grace ‘diamond ring dealer’ in trouble over here also got a diamond lover too
Lebanese national Jamal Joseph Hamed, who is embroiled in a $1,4 million diamond ring row with First Lady Grace Mugabe, has been dragged to court by local businessman Ahmed Abass Ahmed over $1,475 million allegedly advanced to him as a personal loan nearly 10 years ago.

Ahmed issued the summons against Hamed on May 5 this year, but the Lebanese is yet to respond to the lawsuit.
According to Ahmed, the lawsuit emanated from the duo’s loan agreement entered between the parties on December 10, 2008.
Ahmed said on the date and month in question, he advanced Hamed a loan amounting to $1 475 000 and in terms of the agreement, Hamed was supposed to have repaid the whole amount on or before February 28, 2009.
“The defendant (Hamed) duly signed an acknowledgement of debt confirming indebtedness to plaintiff (Ahmed) and arranged for a payment plan, which plaintiff never fulfilled,” Ahmed said.
“Sometime in May 2016, defendant had made an attempt to pay $302 000, but unilaterally terminated the transfer of the money and defendant remains in breach thereof.”
The local businessman further said in breach of the terms and conditions of the agreement, Hamed, despite demand on diverse occasions, had refused, neglected and/or failed to fulfil his contractual agreement, prompting the former to seek the intervention of the court to recover his money.
“Wherefore plaintiff’s claim against the defendant is for payment in the sum of $1 475 000, interest on the sum of $1 475 000 calculated at the prescribed rate and costs of suit on a legal practitioner and client scale,” he said.

Letter: Trinidad and Tobago in crisis; a government that cannot be trusted
Published on May 12, 2017
Dear Sir:
The public is reeling from scandal after scandal. The nation feels as if it's at war with its own government.
The Massy deal is starting to stink. The ferry fiasco that destroyed the sea bridge so PNM friends could benefit is already stinking. The $60 million to be spent on a few bathrooms and huts on an already established beach is set to stink even more.
Rumours abound of all manner of underhanded transactions and corruption galore.
Victoria Villas in Diego Martin, built with hundreds of millions of dollars of public funds through the HDC, is about to be stolen and put into the hands of a PNM investor and his wife.
The National Gas Company is being surreptitiously sold to two conglomerates under the most questionable of circumstances, the former chief operating officers of one of those conglomerates is now being paid by the state to broker that deal, literally himself to himself.
The Sandals scandal is starting to fester, with word leaking through the foreign media that the Tobago deal was being concocted as a 'cherry on top' to sweeten the sale of the very hotel chain with which we were dealing.
Nothing is working.
Trinidad and Tobago
Country in the Caribbean

Trinidad and Tobago is a dual-island Caribbean nation near Venezuela, with distinctive Creole traditions and cuisines. Trinidad’s capital, Port of Spain, hosts a boisterous carnival featuring calypso and soca music. Numerous bird species inhabit sanctuaries such as the Asa Wright Nature Centre. The smaller island of Tobago is known for its beaches and the Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve, which shelters hummingbirds.
Vernacular language: Trinidadian Creole and Tobagonian Creole
Currency: Trinidad and Tobago dollar
Population: 1.36 million (2015) World Bank
Official language: English
The economy is collapsing. Banks are marauding, advantaging and raping the citizens with impunity, no state oversight, no public protection at any turn. Foreign exchange now an endangered species, citizens forced to buy foreign currency at ridiculously inflated black market prices. The health sector, when it is not killing our people through low voltages and blackouts, is infecting them with terminal diseases such as HIV, and those already stricken with cancer are being turned away for care despite a whopping and record six and a half billion dollars being spent on that same health care system this year.
Education has all but collapsed. The bullying and violence that was brewing is now escalating and no one is quite sure who is in charge. Fights and threats are literally shutting down schools. Students and teachers in fear for their lives. Minister of education obsessed with penis and sex jokes.
Nothing is working.
The Cabinet said the government knew nothing of the Massy deal. The prime minister said the Cabinet did and sanctioned it. Who is lying?
Murder rates the highest in our history is being hidden from the media and the public, distractions abound even as our people are being kidnapped and sold through human trafficking, three ministers of national security failing in harmony.
And if that weren't enough the rot seems to have spread and has infected the judiciary. Questionable appointments that were being rammed down the throats of the public now seem to have disrupted the judiciary to the point that will most likely end in the firing of the chief justice on the heels of the shameful end to the career of the chief magistrate and, worse, the collapse of the very JLSC that has to appoint them both.
There is nothing like real leadership from any high office, the country feels like the Titanic, only this time we see the iceberg coming.
Keith Christopher Rowley is the current Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, in office since September 2015. He has led the People's National Movement since May 2010 and was Leader of the Opposition from 2010 to 2015
Tobago's supermarket shelves will be empty by weekend if the Chamber of Commerce is to be believed, yet the person responsible for that calamity is still gainfully employed and making decisions to the detriment of the country.
We cannot continue like this.
This government has to admit that they have no idea what they’re doing and, worse, that they never did in the first place. What exactly were they red and ready for, to loot?
To many of our citizens the only thing keeping them from pouring into the street to demand an immediate election is the spectre of the grotesque alternative waiting in the wings for another chance at the public trough, salivating and licking its lips.
No one seems to want to even consider a return to a country under Kamla, Roodal and the rest of that bungling and corrupt bunch.
There is no lesser evil from which to choose. Change exchange has never stopped the rape, just changed the rapists.
The nation is stalling. The trust required to hold it together is straining. We need a mature people to see and understand the role of the citizen now in the rescue of the democracy.
We must band together.
We need to drain our swamp, clean our stables, fire these incompetents, round up and prosecute all wrong doers who have raped and pillaged the public trust and bring our nation to order.
This, whatever this is, is not working.
None of it.
