On April 26, Muhammad Syafiq posted a series of pictures with the caption, “A shopkeeper lectured a school kid (red t-shirt)…the kid calls his gang to brutally beat the shopkeeper till he is unconscious and in coma…info received from my friends in Taman Melati” (translated from Malay)

The post quickly gained a lot of attention from netizens and was shared nearly 10,000 times. Netizens were furious over the uncivilised actions of the kids and it made them wonder what has happened to the younger generation.

Some were blaming the boy’s parents for not raising the kid well while others blamed his behaviour was a byproduct of the kind of friends he hangs out with.

Many netizens were leaving comments suggesting how this young boy should be punished, however, not everything is as it seems…

Later on in the post, Syafiq posted an update clearing off the somewhat misleading title as the shopkeeper wasn’t in a coma but was merely left unconscious, and apologises for spreading the false information

Then, comes another side of the story that justifies the young boy’s action. Apparently, the young boy was in the mall in the morning after a futsal session.

This whole fight started when the schoolboy called his friend in a loud voice (presumably in front of the shopkeeper) and suddenly this shopkeeper starts yelling at the kid and beats him up. Hence, why the kid called up his brother.

There’s also a picture of the boy’s ears bleeding as a result of the man’s attack.

The older teen who was upset about what had happened to his younger brother called up 9 of his friends to help ‘correct’ the shopkeeper for causing harm.

Right now, there are a few other versions of story lurking on the internet in regards to this incident but what is for sure is that the police have already stepped in to help find justice for the one who is innocent in this matter.

So far, there isn’t any update but we will keep you informed once there’s more solid evidence and official statements from the police themselves.
