At 5.43pm today, the Singapore Police Force was alerted that a fire broke out the terminal. Those who were occupying the area were advised to avoid and evacuate from the area.
According to the Singapore Police Force facebook, they and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) are currently managing the situation of the airport. A tweet was also made at 6.45pm stating that the terminal was under control and that the cause of the fire has been identified. Unfortunately, flights that were operated from and to Terminal 2 were affected by the incident.
According to another Facebook user, the fire occurred at Gate F, and that his sister-in-law was at the boarding gate, prepared for a flight when suddenly they were informed to move to another gate.
Updates regarding the news will be edited when possible. As of now, it is known and realised the the SCDF and the Police Force are handling the situation rather calmly.
