WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was greeted by cheering crowds in his first public appearance since Sweden dropped a rape probe against him today.
The 45-year-old Wikileaks emerged onto the balcony of the Ecuadorian Embassy where he has been under house arrest for five years to declare 'war' against the system which prevented him from watching his children grow up.
He said: 'While today was an important victory and important vindication the road is far from over.
'The war is just commencing. The UK has said it will arrest me regardless. The US has said I and other Wikileaks staff have no rights and our arrest is a priority.'
