Furious Malaysian Man Sets Johor Bahru Bank On Fire After RM100 Million Insurance Application Rejected

Sometimes rejection can really lead people to unexpected levels, some people just accept it and move on in life while others just can’t let go and go to great lengths to take revenge.

A 29-year-old man was furious when his application to be insured some RM100 million was rejected, so he decided to take revenge by burning the bank outlet in Johor Bahru.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Wahib Musa said that the suspect allegedly used petrol to start the fire at the premises along Jalan Kundang at about 8.45 pm on Thursday, July 20.

“A passer-by saw the man splashing liquid, believed to be petrol, on the bank’s door before lighting up a piece of paper to set the place ablaze.

“The suspect immediately fled the scene on a motorcycle.”

Fortunately, the Fire and Rescue Department managed to put out the fire in time and there was no serious damage caused.

“Acting on information, police arrested the suspect at his home. The man admitted that he was unhappy with the bank for rejecting his application for a RM100 million protection insurance.

“A check also revealed that the suspect had received treatment for mental disorder at Hospital Sultanah Nora here.”

The case is being investigated under Section 436 of the Penal Code for arson, the suspect would be remanded for a week until July 27.

So people, please learn from this man’s example never to set places on fire and get yourself in serious trouble if the bank rejects your application, or anyone rejecting you for that matter, there are far more chances in life!
