Because "reverse engineering" has never been the issue.  Every major government has access to this kind of technology now.  There difference between the "#1" and "#2" technologies is incredibly slim.  There isn't an issue with dissecting these things and making them work.   The shape of these airplanes isn't really the secret.  The chemical composition of the RAM in our "stealth" jets is pretty much common knowledge.  The avionics aren't that interesting.  The jet engines aren't really the secret either.  It's the INDUSTRIAL fabrication of them that is.  Looking at something and reverse engineering it is one thing, building an entire scale industry to produce it is another.

This is why, the US -- supplying weapons to a nation like Saudi Arabia -- is in fact a GOOD thing.  Saudi Arabia will get its weapons from someone (France, China, Russia).  The difference here is that Saudi Arabia has an entire defense industry 90% dependent upon the US for spare parts.  All advanced weapons require replacement parts and upkeep.  In the event that the Kingdom falls to militant factions within that nation, its current supply of $2.75 trillion in American weapons will be literally useless in less than one year if the US stops shipping it spare parts.

They could send our planes to China or Russia to be dissected.  But those defense industries would only feel a "trickle down" of that technology that would take YEARS to incorporate into the wider production of weapons.  By the time they have a "Eureka!" moment with the new American tech, the US will be on to something else.  Meanwhile, without the special guidance chips (that frequently need replacing in every American tank and jet fighter) along with a great deal of spare parts and -- of course -- ammunition, the entire Saudi military will grind to a halt in less than a year in the event of a full cut-off of American weapons (this is what happened in Iran in the end of the 70's).   

No matter who "reverse engineers" these things, there is no way for any other nation to equitably replicate them industrially.  The only thing to do is to scrap every piece of complex weaponry and switch to someone else (incredibly, catastrophically expensive).  It's why nations like Russia and the US casually sell weapons to certain nations.  As much as everybody else likes to think that "we're arming bad guys", it's about control.  The more of "our weapons" they buy, the more they invest in an entire Anglospehre (American, Canadian, British and Australian) weapons platform, the more they must continue investing in that.  It's a leash.  One wrong move and every spare part is cut off and the entire military grinds to a halt.

China gets too many weapons and technologies from Russia to try to replicate what Russia does (in an obvious fashion).  But it certainly dissects anything it gets its hands on and hands that information out to its technology industries.  This is precisely what the Obama administration is suing China over.

The picture above shows the Russian Yak-141 TVC Nozzle. In the 1990's, the United States brought its TVC technology and used it on F-35. While China brought it's R79-v300 engine technology and used it on WS-15.

US and Chinese jet engine design were heavily influenced by the R79–V300(206 kN engine used for the Yak 141). The R79–300 was referenced by the US to become the P&W F119 and F135, while it became the WS-10 and WS-15 in China. It is certainly not a bolt to nut copy because it will be impossible to do so, without a certain level of critical tech-knowhow and mature industries, which is why only the UNSC big 5 can produce jet engines with TWR> 8 and only the US, Russia and China can produce turbofan jet engine with TWR>10.[1]

Now let us take a look from another angle of this Sino-Russo deal which has been much hyped in the media.

It is the increasing sophistication of Chinese engines which prompted Russia to approve the deal, because once Chinese aerospace industry achieved the critical breakthrough in enhancing engine lifespan, Russian jet fighter engines will no longer be an appealing option for the Chinese air force. Those who keep saying China cannot produce advanced jet fighter engines is in for a shock soon, as production of the WS-10 series engines hit the high 300s, with the WS-13, 15, 18 ,20 series coming on board soon. Recent aviation news indicates that the J-20 stealth fighter will be equipped with the 145-kN WS-10B turbofan.

Oxford psychology professor Robin Dunbar theorised that humans can maintain approximately 150 stable relationships.

After looking at 3,375 Facebook users, Dunbar found that of their Facebook friends, 4.1 were considered dependable, and 13.6 exhibited sympathy during an “emotional crisis.”

ARE Punjabis and Bengalis the same people? They share very few similarities but many Malaysians mistakenly think they are the same.

A street poll by The Star found that very few Malaysians could differentiate between Punjabis and Bengalis.

Cleaner Rohani Zain, 48, said she thought that Punjabis and Bengalis are the same people and call them ‘Singh’ or Bengali if the person wore a turban.

Wireman Khor Hock Kim, 40, thought that Bengalis wore turbans while Punjabis were Indians who did not wear the headgear.

“Maybe Bengalis are bigger and taller physcially and has got a distinctive facial feature such as high noses,” he said with uncertainty.

His colleague, James Ooi, 29, said that as a child, he learnt from school friends that those with turbans were Bengalis.

“I am not sure of the difference between the two. So, I call my friends ‘Singh’ because it is in their name and I don’t want to sound rude.

Waiter Johari Abdul Rahman, 28, said some people told him that women with a ‘Kaur’ in their names were Punjabis while men with a ‘Singh’ in their names were Bengalis.

“Honestly, I do not know and just call them by their names,” he said.

Research analyst S. Malarvilli, 29, who has a Bengali aunt, said Punjabis were from Punjab while the Bengalis were from Bengal in India and Bangladesh.

“Their culture and language are different,” she said confidently.

Married to a local Punjabi for 17 years, Austrian Eva Feuchtinger, 46, said Punjabis feel offended when they were mistaken as Bengalis.

“Sometimes my husband would explain the differences to his friends,” she added.

Retired Universiti Sains Malaysia administrator Pal Singh, 62, said some people would still be unable to differentiate between a Punjabi and a Bengali even after they were told the differences.

“The only way (to correct the confusion) would be through education,” he suggested.

Wadda Gurdwara Sahib Association president Sarjit Singh Naura said trying to identify a Punjabi or a Bengali through physical attributes was like trying to identify a Malaysian from Perak and a Malaysian from Malacca.

He said 90% of the Sikhs in Malaysia originated from Punjab but there were also Sikhs from Bengal who wore turbans.

Retired teacher Malkiat Singh Lopo, 66, a Prai Gurdwara committee member, said aside from different geographical origins, Punjabis and Bengalis were very different.

“Punjabis speaks Punjabi and are generally taller with bigger frame and slightly fairer than Bengalis.

“Most Punjabis in Malaysia are Sikhs and could be differentiated from the five Kakars which are their uncut hair (kesh), a comb called kanga worn in their hair, a kirpan (a traditional Sikh sword) which they carry, the iron bracelet (kara) worn on their wrists and the traditional Sikh drawers (kacha) which they wear,” he said.

He said the Bengali and Punjabi language and scripts were different but have some similarities because of their Sanskrit origin.

Malkiat Singh, who has researched Malaysian Sikh history and written a historical novel on the Punjabi pioneers in Malaysia called The Enchanting Prison, said the traditional dresses of the two groups were also different.

“Both Punjabi and Bengali men wear the kurta, a free flowing long sleeves shirt falling near the knees, but Punjabi men wear them with drawstring long pants called pajama, a trouser which was fitting at the legs

“Bengali Hindu men wear the kurta with the dhoti, a rectangular unstitched cloth wrapped around the waist and the legs and knotted at the waist while their Muslim counterpart wear the lungi which is like a sarong,” he said.

Malkiat Singh said Punjabi women wore kurti and salwar, commonly known as a Punjabi suit, with dupatta (a scarf) over their heads while Bengali women wore sarees.

“The Bengali Hindu women wear a bindi, a dot on their forehead, and a sindhoor, a red vermilion powder rubbed on the hair above the fore-head,” he said.

“Punjabi Hindus, Punjabi Muslims and Punjabi Christians do not have a ‘Singh’ or ‘Kaur’ in their names and do not practice the five Kakars.

“There are Punjabis who are Sikhs but cut their hair and shave their beards. Still a Punjabi can identify another while it would be difficult for other races to tell a Bengali from a Punjabi,” he said.

He said one way to avoid confusion was to ask if a person was a Punjabi or a Bengali.

Dr M: If CM is public officer, is PM a coolie?

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad is puzzled with the Kuala Lumpur High Court's decision to dismiss his suit against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for misfeasance in public office.

In striking out the suit filed by Mahathir and two others, justice Abu Bakar Jais ruled that Najib, as the prime minister, is not a public officer as defined in the federal constitution, and hence the suit has no cause of action.

Mahathir in response asked if that were the case, then what would the prime minister be.

Syed Akbar Ali comments : Well  1MDB and gomen are both the same - it is taxpayers money. But this is a relevant question. The buyer IWH paid a (10%?) deposit of RM741 million. 

If this aborted deal is IWH's fault, then the deposit of RM741 million is burnt.

IWH will not get their money back. 
Lim Kang Hoo will shit enough bricks to build a new causeway to Singapore.

But if the deal was aborted because of 1MDB's fault or the MOF's fault then IWH will be asking for the refund of their 10% deposit (RM741 million).

Will the gomen refund the deposit? 
Got mani or not? 
What about ganti rugi? 
Surely there will be damages, losses, claims and such. 
Siapa akan tanggung bayar ganti rugi? 

Or are they following the Slumberjack Privatisation Model.
You know where they first sign the contracts and the agreements. 
Then they break the contracts and agreements. 
Then the lucky concessionaire claims and gets paid ganti rugi or compensation. 
Paid by the gomen for breaking the agreement. 

For example they signed the agreement for the crooked bridge.
Then they cancelled the crooked bridge. 
Then the lucky concessionaire was paid about RM700m compensation.
Without even having to build the crooked  bridge.   Unbelievable.

Or like the muallaf fellow who got the AES deal.
Then they cancelled or suspended the AES.
(What is happening to the AES now?)
Then they paid the muallaf fellow compensation.

So will 1MDB or whoever subsidiary pay "compensation" to IWH for breaking this Bandar Malaysia S&P Agreement? That can be a lot of shopping money.

My comments :  This is NOT AN ISSUE. That RM2.4b sukuk was subscribed by all the gomen managed or gomen owned institutions and GLCs.  The KWAKS, the Tabungs, the Providend Funds etc. They subscribed for the RM2.4b sukuk, using  ALL OUR MONEY. 

So even if 1MDB does not pay interest (oops . . . profit sharing, its a sukuk) on the RM2.4 billion hutang  NO ONE is going to declare an event of default.  The CEOs are not suicidal.  The hippo may just sit on them and squash the crap out of their CEOs.)

As an example there is talk that the plantation giant has technically defaulted on one of their loans with Tiger Bank. But Tiger Bank reshceduled the loan   "before" the default date happened.   Baik sungguh Tiger Bank.  I dont think this is legal. I believe Tiger Bank must have got a special black and white ICMA approval from Bank Negara Malaysia to allow the rescheduling.  BNM in turn must have got a black and white ICMA approval from MOF.  ICMA means "I Cover My Ass".

Just like the KWAP fellows are keeping absolutely quiet despite SRC NOT BEING able to service or repay that RM4.0 Billion debt.  They feel happy (sampai boleh melanc_p) that the RM4 billion is  guaranteed by the Malaysian taxpayers.  That is beside the point. A default is still a default.

That IPIC settlement requires a first payment of RM2.5 billion by July 31, 2017.

The Chinese have also pulled the handbrake on Chinese nationals buying properties overseas. So the Iskandar Waterfront project is also stuck because they are depending on sales of units to many Chinese buyers.

The GST may go up. O'wise how else are they going to raise the money?

I have a simple suggestion which the Chief Thief has possibly not thought about before.

Get that JoLo fellow and his family to return some of the stolen money. Just to cover the RM2.5 billion IPIC payment due by July 31st.  Then at least you will have some breathing room.

It is only RM2.5b. He has plenty more stolen money left.  Think about it lah.

Bilkis Banu Gang Rape - Indian High Court Sends 11 Hindus To Life In Jail.- from Around the blogs Syed Akbar Ali

Recently we have heard from an Indian fugitive that if he goes back to India (where TWO WARRANTS of arrest have been issued against him) then he will not be treated fairly.

And all the kaum DNA bahalol just believed what he said.  


Well here is a very high profile case in India which shows that the Indian Judiciary has acted very professionally and upholds justice. 

The prosecution, the defense and the judges are all Hindus (from their names).  
The 11 accused are also all Hindus. 
Only the victim is a Muslim girl.

The case involves 11 Hindus attacking, raping and murdering Muslims.   

In 2002 there were some serious Hindu-Muslim riots in Gujarat. In this case a whole group of 17 people (14 of whom were from one family) was almost completely wiped out. Three people survived, including a girl Bilkis Banu who was gang raped,  beaten and left for dead.

11 attackers who were held responsible were arrested and charged in 2003.
The first guilty convictions were handed down in 2008.

The 11 convicts appealed their conviction.
Yesterday the Bombay High Court upheld the conviction.

The 11 perpetrators have been sent off to life imprisonment.

6 other people, prejudiced Police and hospital doctors who had tampered with evidence were also convicted.

My comments : To say that the Indian penal system will be unfair on account of religion (Hindu versus Muslim) is therefore not true. That is an unfair and wicked thing to say. That will be a fitnah.

It is also to be noted that the Indian High Court has upheld the conviction of a crime committed  in 2002  when the Governor of Gujarat was Narendra Modi, who is now the Prime Minister of India.  Modi's  "administration has been considered complicit in the 2002 Gujarat riots, or otherwise criticised for its handling of it, although a court found no evidence to prosecute Modi."

It is to be noted that these 11 criminals have been under detention since 2003. And now they will remain in jail for life. 

In Malaysia the Attorney General can get fired in 24 hours just for doing his job of wanting to prosecute a case.  Criminals seem to like Malaysia. They feel protected.
