SEPANG: One of the runways at Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been closed until further notice, after a Malaysia Airlines plane's tyres deflated upon landing.

Flight MH726 from Jakarta had two tyres deflate after it landed at 7.13am on Tuesday (May 2) on Runway 2. 

In a statement, Malaysia Airlines said the Boeing 738 aircraft's passengers and crew safely disembarked and were transferred by bus to the terminal, and that it would be investigating the incident.

"The airline will be investigating the cause of the incident on the Boeing 738 aircraft," it said. "Due to an aircraft shortage, some flights utilising this aircraft will be upgraded to the Airbus 330 - and we are looking into deploying the Airbus 380 aircraft to service the Australian routes."

It added: "Runway 2 at KLIA will be closed until further notice."

We must thank Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed that he put in FOUR runways at the KLIA.  So we still have THREE more operational runways. Dont worry folks. 

By coincidence just days ago I was listening to someone talking about these  recurring problems at the KLIA.  

Talk is pilots are complaining that the runways at the KLIA are not even. They are uneven. The reason being the tarmac is subsiding (or sinking).  As a result when planes land, the speed of the landing and hitting the "bumps" can make the tyres explode. This is a dangerous situation.

This is what has happened to Flight M726 from Jakarta. TWO of the planes tyres deflated (aka exploded).

The fact that Runway 2 is closed until further notice is plain acknowledgement that the runway is sinking.  It is not the fault of the pilot.

The KLIA in Sepang is part of a very large peaty area with a fairly thick layer of peat on the surface.  Airport runways on peaty soil need to be properly engineered with very solid ground preparation (piling, ground treatment etc).  Otherwise the ground will sink under the weight of heavy concrete structures (like runways) built over it.

Here is more news.  It is not just the runways that are sinking.

Talk is the huge fuel storage tanks (that store the aircraft fuel) at the KLIA in Sepang are also sinking into the peaty ground.  

As a result of the settling,  there has been water seepage into the fuel reservoirs.  And the quality of aviation  fuel may be compromised.  Of course remedial measures are in place. But a permanent fix is required.

KLIA has already started talking with contractors to fix the problem. The expertise is rather restricted and only one engineering company seems to have the know how to fix this unique problem at the KLIA.  I dont know the contractor's name but I know the country they come from. 

The KLIA has to fix ground measuring sensors all around the airport. Any settlement has to be detected early and counter measures taken asap.  A stitch in time can easily save nine.

Four years left for plateau production in Yadana: Total

It is an extension of Yadana gas field, an offshore gas field in the Andaman Sea, which is the biggest gas production field in Myanmar. French oil and gas giant Total is the operator of Yadana project with 31.2 percent interest, while partners own the rest: US Chevron-Unocal is holding 28.3pc, Thai firm PTTEP with 25.5pc and state-owned Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) with 15pc. 

The Myanmar Times conducted an exclusive interview with Xavier Preel, the general manager of Total E&P Myanmar in Yangon on May 2, following inauguration of LCP-Badamyar project. Mr Preel joined Total E&P Myanmar as General Manager in July 2014 and has worked for Total since 1980.

Yadana gas field is the biggest and the oldest one in Myanmar. What do you feel about it?

Yadana project has been developing a long time ago since 1995, more than 20 years ago. Production started in 1998 and is still producing with plateau production of 8 billion cubic metres per year. We are quite happy today about the development of additional gas field, Badamyar. It means that we are able to maintain plateau production beyond 2020.

Even crude price was falling since 2014 globally, but Total has decided to launch this remarkable project. Why did you decide to launch this project?

We launched LCP-Badamyar project in 2014 during the time when the oil price was decreasing. We have done this because we are committed to supply clean, reliable and affordable energy to customers because we are supplying 15 percent of gas consumption in Myanmar, and we are also exporting to Thailand. So it’s a strong commitment. That’s why we are able to launch this important project which is now completely done.

Another concern among the public is the domestic gas supply. People are still asking about more gas even though domestic gas consumption is still quite low. So with new extension of LCP-Badamyar, how much gas could you supply more for domestic use?

We can supply more gas. But when supplying more gas, we want to be sure that the gas is actually used. You can increase production but if you don’t have power plants to use the gas, you can’t use [generate] electricity. So it is not the question of more production. It is the question of plan. We are seeing that it is becoming the priority of the government today.

Could you tell us how much gas the Yadana project can supply?

We can supply a little bit more. Today we are supplying 230 million cubic feet per day. We can produce a little bit more. But we are also aware that production is expected to decline a lot by 2021. And then we have to discuss about it. It is not easy because we need to act and plan with the ministry [the Ministry of Electricity and Energy]. The ministry decides how much gas can be used from Yadana and how much gas from the other production fields.

So are there only four years left for plateau production of Yadana gas field?

Yes, that’s why the government is working hard. We have four years until production starts to decline. It will be finished by 2021 though production will go on quite a long time.

What about the natural gas price at the moment? Crude oil price is still falling. Is the operation still profitable economically?

Today, operation of Yadana is still profitable. We are not losing money. It is true that oil price is more or less still stabilised at around US$50 per barrel. We are having less revenue. That is also a concern for the state [Myanmar]. But it is really difficult to predict what oil price would be. What we need to do is lower the cost for production. That is quite important. In that regard, we are quite happy that LCP-Badamyar project is was done well with more than 20 percent below the original budget. That’s a great achievement. That’s the money of everyone and all the partners, particularly the state.

In recent years, Total has been acquiring more interests in other offshore blocks. What is Total doing in other blocks?

We are very committed to Myanmar to supply energy. We are the first foreign company to invest in Myanmar and invest in the development of Yadana project. Part of the commitment is to look for additional gas reserve. We think Myanmar contains a lot of gas reserve but it is to be approved. We have taken exploration farming in the blocks.

Today we have taken a significant participation in seven blocks which are all offshore. We are partner of new discovery of A-6. We have 40 percent interest together with Woodside and local company MPRL. We have announced gas discovery in 2016. It is in 2000-metre depth – really deep water. We shall conduct appraisal wells starting from mid-2017. And we plan to start two or three wells. We will be able to confirm this discovery and start to think about potential development. We are doing exploration activities on all these seven blocks. But I want to stress that exploration doesn’t mean that gas is being discovered. There is still a long way until discovery and before any potential developments.

Total has been in Myanmar 25 years, and you have worked with the previous administration as well as the current one. What do you think of the NLD-led government?

I want to say that energy is quite important for economic development of the country. I see that the government is doing a lot of work establishing a proper energy policy. That’s quite good. I think decision will be made shortly to have a clear vision of what kind of energy plan will be implemented. We can be optimistic about the potential of Myanmar. Myanmar has been blessed by its low-CO2 energy which is quite an issue for Myanmar because it is one of the countries which are most affected by global warming.

CHINA CONSORTIUM GIVES NO FACE, MINCES NO WORDS AND MAY SUE OVER ABORTED TRX CITY DEAL

IWH CREC Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd (IWH) and China Railway Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (CREC), has disputed TRX City Sdn Bhd’s claim yesterday over the sale of its 60 percent equity interest in Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

It further said the press release issued by TRX City was not entirely accurate.

  

“IWH CREC is concerned with the content of the termination notice and the subsequent press release issued by TRX City, which, given the factual matrix, does not fully and accurately reflect the circumstances and conduct of the parties in this matter,” IWH CREC said in a statement.

“IWH CREC takes this matter very seriously and is at present reviewing the content of the termination notice and press release with its advisors and legal counsel,” it said adding that a further announcement on this matter will be made in due course.

IWC CREC Sdn Bhd is a 60-40 consortium between IWH and CREC.

TRX City, which is owned by the Ministry of Finance, said in a statement yesterday that the share sale agreement (SSA) entered into on Dec 31, 2015 with the IWH CREC consortium had lapsed.



“This is because, despite repeated extensions being granted, IWH-CREC failed to meet the payment obligations outlined in the conditions precedent under the SSA.

“As a result, the share sale agreement between the parties stands null and void with immediate effect,” it had said, adding that the government will now shelve its plan to sell the land.

The Bandar Malaysia deal was previously touted as part of the 1MDB rationalisation plan to pare down its debt.

The 486-acre prime land in Sungai Besi had since been transferred and placed under the Finance Ministry.

It was a heartbreaking moment when I first saw this post on Facebook where this little baby girl who diagnosed with Down syndrome is now suffering from heart disease.

According to the funding post posted by One Hope Charity on Facebook, Grace was diagnosed with three defects in her heart, where the heart appears to have two holes and the main heart vascular deformed. As her situation is getting worse day by day, she now urgently needs a total amount of 80,000 ringgit for her heart surgery.

On 27th of August 2016, Grace came into the world. However, this baby girl was diagnosed with Down syndrome and congenital heart disease. As she needed extra medication care, she was immediately admitted to Newborn Intensive Care Unit for observation.

Two months later, Grace’s situation improved. With her doctor’s recommendation, her parents were allowed to bring her home while waiting for the authority to schedule for her heart surgery. When Grace was 6 months old, her situation had turned for the worse as her lung was infected and needed to be treated immediately.


Grace’s parents were advised to proceed the heart surgery as soon as possible. However, they could not afford the huge amount of surgery expenses. Her father was now unemployed while her mother is working in an insurance company as a clerk with a monthly salary of RM 1,700.



The parents are having 4 children where Grace is the youngest child in the family. The family is currently living with her grandaunt who retired from her work. In another word, the family is now living penniless.

Although the baby girl was diagnosed with Down syndrome, her parents never gave up hope on her because they loved her. They have agreed with One Hope Charity to start up a fundraising through social media. One Hope Charity first donated RM 8,000 to help out the parents to transfer Grace to the specialist. [Karma Strikes Back] Pet Owner Fined For Causing Pain And Suffering To Her Dog

When animal abusers get what they deserve, there is just this slight feeling of satisfaction. A woman who is a rice trader was fined RM2,000, in default three months’ jail for causing pain to her dog.

Chon Kam Foong, 48, was charged with unreasonably causing pain and suffering to her Labrador Cross dog by tightly tying the animal at the neck with a steel chain at her house in Pandan Indah at 4.30pm on November 30 last year.

As reported by The Star, Magistrate Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali meted out the fine on Chon who pleaded guilty to the charge. She paid the fine.

She was also ordered to pay RM6,415 to the Veterinary Service Department for treatment cost and boarding for 154 days.

The charge is under Section 44 (1) (d) of the Animals (Amendment) Act 2013 provides a fine of up to RM50,000, or imprisonment for up to a year, or both if found guilty.

A team from the department went to Chon’s house after the department received a report of a 2-year-old dog being caged in front of her house. They found the male dog in pain as its neck was tightly chained and cut marks were visible.

Chon, who was unrepresented, said she was only helping her husband to sell rice and they had four children to support.

I wonder if she would learn her lesson after paying that large sum of money, there should also be a restriction against owning other pets for her!!

2nd May 2017, a 30-years-old Malaysian lady had herself killed after jumping off from the condominium building where she lived with her family. The lady was identified as the host of  【Kepong People】on Facebook. 【Kepong People】is one of the largest Facebook group communities which has more than 110k of members.



According to the Chief District Officer, Ali Ahmad, Kendy first attempted to jump down from a nearby building which was located approximately 300 meters away from her home, however, she was stopped by the public and informed her husband about her suicidal attempt. Her husband then immediately rushed to her and sent her back to their condominium. The husband parked the car on the 4th-floor of the parking lot. As they were about to get off the car, Kendy suddenly opens the car door, runs to the sidewall and jumped off the building.

Kendy was confirmed to be suffering depression and had received a year of psychiatric treatment in the hospital. According to the police investigation, it was shown that the deceased who committed suicide was overwhelmed with her family and marriage problem.

In fact, 6 days ago before Kendy committed suicide, she made a public confession of her 13 years of marriage life on Facebook. She explained how she met her husband and how her life took a turn for the worse after her marriage with her husband.

According to her statements on Facebook, she met her husband for the first time at the age of 16. They fell in love with each other. As they were so in love, they had tried the “forbidden fruit” without any safety precaution. After 3 months, she noticed that she was pregnant and her husband was willing to take on the responsibility to take care of her and the baby. Kendy married her husband with the thoughts of it would be a happy marriage as she loved her husband so much.

She stated that, during the 13 years of marriage, she was tortured by her husband where she has to physically bear with domestic violence while mentally enduring the pain of her husband having affairs. Kendy could not bear the pain her husband brought to her, but still, she forgave him as she loved him so much.

Other than marriage problem, she was also facing another family problem with her mother-in-law where she claimed that she was being treated unfairly in the family. This finally led her to buy her own home with her husband and moved out in 2012.

In the same year, she was pregnant with her youngest son and she thought her life had changed and it would be a lifetime happiness with her family. Unfortunately, her husband had repeated the same mistake where Kendy ‘caught’ him red-handed having an affair, again. They quarrelled about the same issue over and over again. As she could not endure the pain anymore, she was diagnosed of having depression in 2016.

In 2017, Kendy finally had the courage to divorce her husband. However, they still did not manage to compromise about the child custody and maintenance issues. Ultimately, all this build up of stress had ‘forced’ her to commit suicide and ending her pain.

Rawang Hit And Run Case: Driver Of Hit And Run Car Says He Has Nothing To Do With The Accident!!

In case you didn’t know, there was a hit and run case on a highway heading to Rawang. In the video submitted in Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis a modified Ford is seen speeding and swerving to overtake other drivers on the road.

When collided with another car, the driver just drove off without concerning about the people he just hit.

Although the incident took place on April 30, the post had over 13,000 shares ever since it was posted up earlier today.

One commenter recognises the car plate number and immediately screen capture the owner’s facebook. To which the owner of the vehicle, Hariharen Annadurai, claims that he had lent his car to his friend that day, but his friend told him a different story where someone hit the Ford and ran away. Luckily for this video, he now knows the truth.

Bro, your friend lied to you, if you knew it was him, you should turn him in to settle this matter, he hit someone and ran away. He shouldn’t be getting away even if it was just a minor bump, a hit is a hit!

To which I very much agree too. We all know no matter which lane we drive in, when accidents are fated to happen, it will happen! But we can avoid accidents by looking out for each other and helping one another on the road!
