‘DR GANJA’ ARRESTED BY KLANG POLICE

KUALA LUMPUR: A 58-year-old ex-military man was arrested by police for allegedly promoting and marketing various ganja-based products on social media, and for also selling the products from his house in Kampung Delek Dalam in Klang near here.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) deputy director Deputy Comm Datuk Kang Chez Chiang said the man was arrested along with his 35-year-old Indonesian wife and a 38-year-old assistant during a raid on the house last Friday.


He said the man, whose moniker is ‘Dr Ganja’, even claimed that his products could cure all sorts of illnesses.

DCP Kang said the man had promoted the benefits of using ganja and hemp on social media and had garnered a following.

“Those who trusted his claims would go to his house to buy the ganja-based products,” he told a press conferen ce at the Bukit Aman police headquarters here on Tuesday.
He added that the man claimed that his intention was to help people and said that he even gave away products for free to those who could not afford it.

DCP Kang said that police also seized various products believed to contain ganja, including four litres of oil, 21 bottles of margarine, 70 chocolates bars, 66 bottles of honey, nine bottles of milk and two pieces of cake.

He added that police also seized 18 ganja plants, 4kg of powder believed to be ganja, and 72kg of ganja seeds.

DCP Kang added that all three suspects tested positive for the drug and have been remanded for seven days.
