Singapore pretends Rohingyas’ problem doesn’t exist -No Singapore knows too well that these Rohingya are terrorist and need to be contained

Letters From The Rakyat , 6 Dec 2016:

It has been clear for a very long time that Myanmar Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi really doesn’t care much for Rohingyas – who are being forced out of their own country by the very armed forces who should be protecting them.

Deliberately ignoring such a huge problem right under their noses, it was right for Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak to described what is happening to the Rohingyas in Myanmar as genocide.

The human rights atrocities have now come to the attention of neighbouring countries, with Thailand and Indonesia also calling on the Myanmar government to protect the helpless Rohingyas, who are rightful citizens of Myanmar.

Even nations far away have strongly urged Myanmar to stop attacks against about one million displaced Rohingyas – which the government there has simply dismissed as untrue claims.
Pretending the problem doesn’t exist is no solution – we have seen how many Rohingya refugees have escaped in leaky boats and walked through forbidding jungles just to be free of the abuses from fellow countrymen.

And these people can’t go home because Myanmar refuses to guarantee their safety or even allow them to return, leaving Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand stuck with so many homeless Rohingya refugees.

In the midst of this human rights horror, while everyone is applying pressure for Myanmar to protect the Rohingyas, it is so awful to see Singapore openly welcome Aung San Suu Kyi – who continues to pretend there is no Rohingya problem

The Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also pretends with her and promises her government even more money and business investments – wanting to make profit while innocent blood flows.
Why does Singapore continue to be blind to the abuses against the Rohingyas when its ASEAN neighbours are pushing hard for the genocide to stop? How many Rohingya lives lost will it take for Singapore to finally admit there’s a problem?

Maybe all Singapore needs is a reminder that the Rohingya abuses can happen on that island too, because the same people who allow the killing are free to move around in Singapore and some have even been welcomed with open arms.

Singapore should not wait for the horror to reach its shores before acting to pressure Myanmar to stop the abuses against the Rohingyas. The time to act is now, no more blood should be shed and no more lives lost while smiles hide the pretense.
