He is very lucky and Singapore being a nonsense country just
fined him and not jailing him , speaks volume of Singapore who have come full
circle and nip the fire before it spreads and getting the offended to apologies
that he was wrong. Coming from a Kafir country which forgives but not forget is
a lesson the Muslim countries can learn from Singapore to curb Muslims
radicals. He will be a much closed watchman and will not be allowed to leave
the country. Getting on the wrong side of the law and apologizing takes a man
and the Imam proved he indeed is a man with telur that he was wrong. do not find many men in Malysia who will do the same.
Imam fined for remarks
against Jews, Christians in Singapore

The preacher from India has paid the fine and
will be repatriated, says Singapore authorities.
PETALING JAYA: The Muslim preacher who last week
made a public apology for making offensive remarks against those of other
faiths in Singapore has been fined S$4,000 (RM12,6700) for promoting enmity.
Singapore’s home affairs ministry, in a press
release published by ChannelNews Asia, said the imam, who was from India, had
paid the fine and would be repatriated.
“Any religious leader from any religion who
makes such statements will be held accountable for their actions.
“Under Singapore law, we cannot, regardless of
his religion, allow anyone to preach or act divisively and justify that by
reference to a religious text,” said the statement.
Nalla Mohamed Abdul Jameel pleaded guilty to the
charge and was sentenced today.
The imam had come under fire for his
supplication, “God grant us victory over Jews and Christians” during a Friday
sermon at the mosque in January.
A video of the sermon was posted early this
month on Facebook. This gave rise to a public outcry and led to a police
investigation into the imam.
Yesterday, the imam visited the Maghain Aboth
Synagogue to apologise for his remarks to rabbi Mordechai Abergel as a
representative of the Jewish community. Buddhist and Sikh community leaders
were also present.
Two days earlier, on Friday, the imam read out
an apology to the groups he had offended, in front of multi-faith
representatives, including Buddhists, Sikhs and fellow Muslims, in the Harmony
in Diversity Gallery in the city state.
In the apology addressed “to all Singaporeans”,
he expressed “great remorse” for the “inconvenience, tension and trauma that I
have caused to this peaceful country”.
He admitted that the offending supplication had
been taken from an old text in his village in India, and was not extracted from
the Quran.
“This episode has educated and enlightened me,
and I am deeply thankful to God for this realisation. I am also very relieved
that society has remained calm.
“I am truly sorry that I had offended you, and I
must bear full responsibility for my actions,” he read.
