4 PAS divisions to ditch PKR and it means 4
members of PAS Selangor and suspect that is all PAS have in Selangor. What about
the rest of PAS divisions and as per gossip all are dead and buried in the
local cemetery as the living are now with Amanah Party. Why quit later why can
quit now. Maybe PAS Selangor will be invited for the Chinese Ghost festival, oops
the Chinese ghost also no like PAS ghost. Try trying the turbans lose or go and
ask the Punjabis how to tie a turban without killing the brain
4 PAS Youth divisions in Selangor vote to ditch PKR

More Youth divisions are expected
to follow suit, if what PAS leaders have said is anything to go by
PETALING JAYA:
The Kuala Selangor, Subang, Serdang and Pandan divisions of PAS Youth have
unanimously agreed to pass a motion that will mark the end of the Islamist
party’s ties with PKR.
This follows
the passing of the same motion in Tumpat (Kelantan), Permatang Pauh and Bayan
Baru (Penang).
Kuala Selangor
PAS Youth chief Ahmad Hakimi Othman said the decision was made after three
incidents that marred the relationship between the two parties in Selangor.
“The first was
when PKR’s Malay-Muslim leaders chose to take a cynical view of our efforts to
strengthen the shariah courts and ignore our explanations,” he said in a
statement today.
“Secondly, in
the Sungai Besar by-election, PKR clearly betrayed the terms of the political
cooperation with PAS as outlined by the syura council.
“Thirdly, the
state government’s water issues and its unresolved altercation with SPLASH have
dragged PAS into a crisis of public confidence.”
PAS
vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah recently said the final decision on
whether to part ways with PKR would be made at the party’s 63rd Muktamar on
April 29 in Kota Sarang Semut, Kedah.
If the motion
is accepted and passed by the ulama council, a multi-cornered election battle
or a migration of PAS voters to Umno is expected.
Several PAS
Youth divisions are expected to follow Kuala Selangor in voting to break up
with PKR, if what PAS leaders have told FMT is anything to go by.
Hulu Langat PAS
Youth division chief Zurk Ahmad said the breakup with PKR was something the
party youth was looking forward to, a sentiment echoed by the Selangor PAS
Youth chief.
Muhammad Hanif
Jamaluddin, who heads the Kuala Langat Youth wing, said the same and expressed
regret that Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali had insulted PAS Youth
chief Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.
In a tweet this
week, Azmin poked fun at Nik Abduh’s massive defeat at the Pengkalan Chepa PAS
divisional election, in which he challenged incumbent Izani Husin for the
division’s deputy head post.
Hanif said,
“The situation really shows how PKR leaders do not respect the spirit of comradeship
in the political cooperation (with PAS).
“We are ready
to move all our machinery to ensure victory in all areas in Selangor.”
Selangor PAS
secretary Khairuddin Othman said although the views of the party youth must be
taken into account, they did not represent the party.
“We have to
understand that this is a motion from the youth wing. The youth are aggressive
and we have to let them speak. But the decision will be made during the
muktamar.
“We also have
to understand that the motion was passed by only four out of 22 divisions in
Selangor.
“However, we
have to take into account our members’ views,” he said when contacted by FMT
for comment.
Although the
call for PAS to part ways with PKR appeared to be gaining momentum within the
Islamist party, Khairuddin said the relationship between Selangor PAS and
Selangor PKR remained unchanged.
“Selangor PAS’
political cooperation with PKR still stands and we are still a part of the
state government.
“There is no
problem with our relationship with the state government so other parties do not
need to panic.”
The Selangor
government is led by PKR with PAS, DAP and Amanah, according to the terms of
the agreement drawn up between the opposition parties in the 12th general
election.
However, Nik
Abduh recently confirmed that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had plans to take
over Selangor in the next general election.
