Azmin why getting cold feet now. PAS is already a spend force
and let them die off and no need to help the drowning devils by throwing them a
lifeline. If you do that, then the voters will punish you and PKR/PH very severely
at the ballot box come PRU14. The majority of voters are very happy that PAS is
no longer with PH and now sleeping with UMNO out of wedlock. Leave the devils
alone and we have no need for them.Need brave but not coward leaders to lead
Azmin calls for truce in PAS-PKR spat
| March 25, 2017
The PKR deputy president tells PAS and PKR this is not the time to
argue in the open, as opposition parties should be preparing for the general
election.
BALAKONG: PKR deputy
president Mohamed Azmin Ali has called for a ceasefire in the ongoing spat in
the media between PAS and PKR, urging both sides to discuss their grievances
behind closed doors.
“This is not the
time for us to argue in the open. I am urging all quarters to sit down and have
a discussion,” Azmin, who is the Selangor Menteri Besar, said today.
“Most importantly,
put the interests of the country and the people first as our priority is facing
the upcoming polls,” he said.
Tensions between
both parties in Selangor escalated after Azmin had taunted PAS youth chief Nik
Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz over his heavy defeat at the Pengkalan Chepa PAS
divisional election in Kelantan, his home state, on March 18.
Nik Abduh, the son
of the late PAS spiritual adviser Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, had challenged
incumbent Izani Husin for the division’s deputy head post, but managed to gain
only 37 votes compared to Izani’s 209.
The Pengkalan Chepa
parliamentary constituency was held by Nik Aziz from 1974 to 1986.
Azmin tweeted: “Ada
tok lebai nak tawan Selangor. Kawasan sendiri pun kalah tersungkur.” (There is
a pious elder who wants to take control of Selangor. In his own area he lost,
falling headfirst.”
Selangor PAS women’s
wing chief Wan Hasrina Wan Hassan described Azmin as “kacang lupakan kulit
(ungrateful)”, claiming that his sarcasm had put a strain on the political
cooperation between the two parties.
She was quoted as
saying “Azmin should realise that he is in the Selangor Menteri Besar seat
because of PAS’ proposal”.
“If he wants to rely
on his own party, (he should know that) his name was not even on the list of
candidates for the MB post.”
Azmin expressed
confidence that the PAS-PKR feud can be resolved in a civil manner.
“We had bigger
issues before this and we managed to solve them,” he said after officiating at
the National Community Basketball League (NCBL) in Balakong.
“This is the
strength of opposition parties, where we can talk about our problems in the
spirit of brotherhood.”
“With the wisdom of
our leaders in Pakatan Harapan, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) (now a
component of Pakatan) and PAS, I’m confident that they want a better country
and that is only possible through negotiations and discussions.”
Azmin also pointed
out that PKR has never cut ties with any party because it has always taken an
“open” approach in addressing issues.
“That is PKR’s
strength because we are always open to discussion. Even though there are
differences between us, it is these differences that give us the strength to
achieve a consensus among each other.”
Yesterday, four PAS
Youth divisions in Selangor passed motions urging the party leadership to cut
ties with PKR, following the footsteps of the party’s other divisions in
Kelantan and Penang recently.
PAS has retained its
political relationship with PKR even after the demise of the former opposition
coalition of Pakatan Rakyat despite its insistence that it would not work with
DAP and Amanah, which are PKR’s allies in the new opposition pact Pakatan
Harapan.
