AFTER ALL HIS INSULTS AGAINST DR M & SON, NAZRI SHOWS HIMSELF TO BE THE REAL COWARD: MUKHRIZ ACCEPTS DEBATE DARE ON HIS ‘BILLION RINGGIT WEALTH’ CLAIMS
ALOR STAR – Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir has accepted the challenge from his former special officer Haris Che Mat to an open debate over allegations that the former Kedah Menteri Besar has amassed multi-billion ringgit wealth within a short period.
The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) deputy president said he is accepting the challenge unconditionally and proposed that the debate should be held next Wednesday.
The Ayer Hitam assemblyman said the debate to be held in Pokok Sena instead of Jerlun as suggested by Haris earlier today.
“The truth is, I have been waiting for him to dare me for an open debate so that I will have the opportunity to answer every single allegation he level against me.
“I am also open for the debate the aired live so that everyone could follow the session instead of waiting for a trial at the court.
“Honestly I am shocked by his allegations that I have amassed multi-billion ringgit worth of wealth, so I am keen to hear what information that he’s going to reveal because we also have a few secrets about him that we may reveal during the debate,” he said before taking part in a live forum organised by Kedah Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) at its headquarters in Stargate here this evening.
Mukhriz said he was not setting any condition for the debate and hoped that it could be held as soon as possible.
“If Haris feels that the date is not suitable, he may propose another date but I hope it will be anytime soon instead of waiting until May,” he said.
Earlier today, Haris, who is also Pokok Sena Umno division vice-chief said that the people at large are keen to know how Mukhriz had amassed his wealth.
However, he declined to elaborate on the alleged wealth amassed by Mukhriz and how long the latter took to become a multi-billionaire, adding that all the details would be revealed in stages prior to the debate.
Haris said Mukhriz must declare how he and his brothers, as the former prime minister’s children, had become instant multi-billionaires.
He called on Mukhriz to decide on the date and time of the debate, which should be held before the month of Ramadhan at any location in the Jerlun parliamentary constituency.
