ABU HAMKA : Wish
to comment on the role of the armed forces which is mainly defending the
sovereignty of the nation. Does it include the duty to ensure the country is
run by a good government. If hypothetically, the government of the day is
corrupt would it mean AF can take necessary actions to 'change' it?
The above question was asked by Abu Hamka in response to this article written by Dato Kamruddin Jamal awarded Pingat Gagah Berani for his services to our nation while he was serving in the Army :
KAMARUDDIN MOHD. JAMAL : IS THE LOYALTY OF OUR ARMED FORCES WITH THE GOVERNMENT OR THE PEOPLE?
steadyaku47 comment : It is not the place for us civilians to deem ourselves worthy to
talk on behalf of those serving in ATM. That is for them and the Army Veterans
to talk for themselves. ...though I would respectfully suggests that any
corrupt government, any corrupt servant of that government and any corrupt
politicians taking advantage of their place in government and in public
service, should, without exceptions, be tied to a stake, mercifully
blindfolded, and forthright be speedily despatched by a firing squad! Tabek
Tuan.
