That’s exactly what happened to this man that goes by the surname of Zhang. According to Daily Mail and nd.fjsen, back in July 2016, Zhang ‘married’ two women simultaneously, one of which was his ex-wife.
Now, you must be scratching your head thinking why would he ‘re-marry’ his ex-wife and another lady on the same day, right? Well, let me break it down for you…
Prior to this, Zhang and Xie were already married but for some reason, they weren’t able to hold a proper wedding tea ceremony. They were even blessed with a baby boy, however, as months passed by, Xie was having health problems which led them to live separately.
This separation was further ripped apart when the couple decided to call it quits in early 2016. That’s when Zhang met his new fiancee, Zhong.
Then, when the two new couple wanted to settle in, Zhang’s parents who were very fond of his ex-wife wanted them to have a proper wedding ceremony before he married the new girl.
Hence, to keep both parents and his new wife happy, the trio agreed to do the ‘proper’ wedding tea ceremony together. It was also reported that his ex-wife had already moved into her own place.
Their peculiar marriage footage had just started circulating the Chinese social media on April 18 and it has been creating a buzz. The video showed the trio in the midst of performing the wedding tea ceremony in Longzhu village of Fuan province in China.
Both of the ladies were seen in their traditional red dresses, Xie on Zhang’s left and Zhong on his right. The 3 kneeled down to get the elders’ blessing and the two women were seen receiving the traditional red envelopes.
It’s safe to say that all ended well for both families and hope that the new couple will last until the end.
