Simple question
If the majority of Malay-Muslims and other Muslims wanted sharia
law as the law of the law, then why wasn’t PAS the dominant party since
Malaysian Independence representing The Muslim-Malays and Not UMNO.
The majority Malay-Muslims choose the old UMNO who were
nationalist and secular because they wanted religion to be a personal matter
and the government to be secular.
Now with UMNO and PAS on the religious path to gain Malay votes,
they now end up fighting for 15 – 20% Malay-Muslim votes want as Sharia law as
what UMNO and PAS says which I highly doubt.
The 80% majority of Muslim-Malays want their life style since
Independence maintained and now have cast their lot with PKR – DAP and a lesser
extend to Pribumi and Amanah who also use race and religion as a bait to win
votes but to a lesser degree.
That is why PAS have been always a fringe party and UMNO also
going that way. The is new political dynamics in the Muslim-Malay block, who in
minority voice out their opinions against those who are rolling back the
secular side of Malaysia but the majority in fear of what their neighbors or
peers say, have decided to shut up speaking out openly and keep their thinking
to themselves only and will only make it count at the voting booth who ever
will continue the secular government and lifestyle and punish who are vocal in
rolling back civil liberties.
All Vocal candidates using religion and race as a bait for votes
are now put on notice, that the Majority will vote anybody than these religious
and political chameleons who change their tune like day and night. These include
all from BN and PH and will not be surprised Independent candidates from a
secular block will have candidates in seats where there is no choice between
religious and secular as both PH and fields candidates who use religion and
race as a vote bait.
