The chemist did not give up that easily and put up a fight during the attack on the jogging track that was parallel to Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
During their scuffle, the man had cut her left calf and wrist. After injuring the victim, the foreign worker fled the scene. As the victim was receiving first aid, pictures of her were taken.
The pictures that were shared all over the social media showed her open wounds that were bleeding profusely.
The Police were quick to investigate the matter and found lead to a nearby construction site a few hours after the robbery occurred.
“We found a knife and a striped T-shirt believed to be worn by him during the attack.”
“The suspect is an illegal immigrant and has been detained for two weeks under the Immigration Act.”
“When the woman is discharged from the hospital, we will ask her to identify the suspect.”
It was also suspected that the robber had taken the victim’s handphone because it was nowhere to be found after the attack. It is apparent that the police ruled out the possibility of a sexual assault as they believe that the man groped her body to search for valuables.
