Police say the case has been classified as sudden death.
PETALING JAYA: Johor police said a 12-year-old boy has been found hanging in his foster family’s house in Kampung Cahaya Baru, near Masai, Johor Baru.
“The boy was alone in the house with his 57-year-old aunt at the time of the incident,” said Seri Alam police chief Supt Jokhiri Abdul Aziz.
According to a report in The Star, the victim had returned from school at about 3.30pm and told his aunt that he was going to take a bath.
Later, feeling something amiss, the aunt went to check on her nephew and found him hanging, said Jokhiri.
“A medical officer from Klinik Kesihatan Masai confirmed his death,” he said.
Jokhiri said the boy was described as a loner who rarely talked to his guardians or friends, adding that the case had been classified as sudden death.
